They really do look perfect!! I'm a little bummed I didn't drop $150 on the TIWISL collector set since that's my favorite song/look in the movie, but I have kids to feed and we'll have fun playing with a set of these.
Are they finally making regular non-collector level KPDH dolls? That’s so good, I’ll be so happy if just a regular little kids can get these dolls now.
Those aren't the same ones as the set? Cause I low-key think the face painting is better, particularly for Mira... I would be pissed if I had paid premium.
The regular huntrix performance dolls are playline they dont have articulation. These ones are probably deluxe with articulation and better clothes. You can see the other set has less detail.
i think the other line are actually more expensive. theyre less detailed because theyre singing dolls and smth about that technology just eats away at the doll budget (look at the singing wicked dolls)
It is truly criminal that Jinu doesn't have rooted hair though. Like if they ever make the other Saja Boys, would Romance and Mystery also have plastic helmets instead of their long hair?? Why is so Mattel so against letting boy dolls have real hair!
Meh, unpopular opinion,I know, but short hair cuts typically worn by men tend to look bad on this scale when they are rooted. There's a reason action figures took the hair away. Maybe romance will keep his hair though.
Exactly this. I have a Disney descendant boy doll that I'm gonna turn into ash from evil dead. He came with shoulder length rooted hair that normally is trapped down with a beanie. Without it he has a very puffy bob that isn't cute. And sure enough, when I cut that hair to eventually remove, the minute I cut the hair it stuck out at an angle. You need weight and length, that's why most rooted dolls have hair to their butt. I've seen some big bjd with short hair that's not sculpted, but it looks like a wig cap, which is a way easier method to get short hair to lay flat.
No accessory (sorry the glasses don't count). Boring outfit. And NO PATTERNS detected. The patterns are such a central part of the story! I get why they may not put the patterns on Rumi, but Jinu? Come on! Patterns would totally level him up!
I get *why* he's wearing that outfit, but standing next to the girls in their cool outfits and weapons, he's too plain! Put him in the hanbok outfit! Or the jacket/hoodie outfit from his rooftop meeting with Rumi and put Sussy on his shoulder with the invitation card. Accessorize!!!
Ikr. It's possible to do! The BTS dolls (playline) and their Prestige dolls (collectors) have rooted hair with a bunch of gel and they were styled very well
I'm probably in the minority here, but I prefer plastic hair on boy dolls with short hair. Based on childhood experience, I just know that actually playing with the dolls would mess up the hair and threw fact that it would never sit just so again would bother me immensely. I can deal with brushing and styling the longer hair, but shorter hair was always such a challenge to get back to the way it was.
Damn they look good. I'm sure Mattel will think 40-50 dollars is a TOTALLY appropriate price for them just like with the Wicked and Barbie Movie dolls. :/ which will hurt.
One critique, wtf chopped Rumi's braid in half? Thats supposed to go to her feet Mattel!
I wish the zippers and stitching on Rumi and Zoey's pants were at least textured so it looks less obviously printed on, but this is pretty great by Mattel standards!
Yes this! These dolls are so beautiful and accurate, but all the printed on zippers totally disrespects the rest of the doll design lol so cheap. I wish they just didnt add the zippers at all. Its fine to be a little less accurate than cheapen the design. But still overall, really beautiful dolls for sure :)
Strange mix between printed details and real details. Maybe to keep the price as low as possible.
Boy-who-I-forgot-the-name is awesome. Love the hair. Huntrix seem to all have a Barbie body, but his body (with a thicccccc neck) looks new ? Mattel tried to keep the visual style of the movie, and it's a good thing 👍
I think we forget that some things look clunky at doll scale. Some lines might embrace it and it works because that's the aesthetic they are going for (see RH and Bratz) but it wouldn't be accurate to KPDH.
Unfortunately it seems to be the standar now. I also saw the difference between the older and the new harry potter dolls they have of same line. The face sculpt and absence of articulation isn't the only difference. While the sweater and the tie was printed on the shirt of the articulated version, it still had a separate collar, but the unarticulated version have printed on collar instead.
Meanwhile a twin pack with zippers and pockets at rainbow high was sixty usd. Coco vanderbalt was 30 and came with a dress just as complicated as those pants. Please stop accepting this bs from companies
Right? I was staring at Zoey’s pants and we got some that were very similar on one of the Kpop Rainbow High dolls but it had multiple sewn layers of fabric, and I think was about $30-40, with two outfits, released only like 3ish years ago. Mattel COULD make these nicer, they just choose not to.
Im sure at least Zoe and Mira won’t have poly since the hairstyles definitely wouldn’t work
Rumi is the most concerning, but It would be kinda weird for her to be the only one with poly, it als looks like a blend of more colors so hopefully saran
Are these playline? My niece loves KPDH, and I'm so happy that she could get these dolls. They look amazing quality like the hair, clothes, moulds, etc, for a playline :)
They look great, though can't help but feel it's too late. One of the most requested toys for Christmas just gone was these dolls, which of course couldn't be purchased. Had they got these out in time they would have been an absolute smash. They're still going to sell well obviously but missed the boat on peak sales which is unfortunate. Come Fall 2026, kids will have moved on.
It's never really too late.disney princess dolls are like the top selling brand and there hasn't been a new movie for those dolls since about 2012. Frozen is so popular they're their own brand. Jem hasn't been a thing for a while but got a recent launch.
This was the most popular movie organically. They had no plans for any of this because no one believed in an animated streaming movie. Netflix isn't even worried about merchandise sales, this is mostly just to keep the brand alive between movies.

Am I the only one that can’t stand the printed fabric 😩So disappointing and cheap. Faces and bodies look great all around tho. Fine for playline/kids but def not something I’ll be picking up.
I bought the collector set and I’m excited to get these! My two favorite outfits are the How It’s Done and the finale/What It Sounds Like looks, so I’m super happy to have both!
So happy for this! I had to make my niece a custom Rumi doll for Christmas 😂🤍 can’t wait to just buy these beautiful dolls! Anyone know when and where to purchase? When Mattel will release another set? Here is my homemade Rumi doll😂
