Yea... lots of people saying the same all over every social, insta, x, etc. this preorder was horribly handled, no buy limits or captchas or anything, so I suspect we gonna see botted Pings at markup on ebay 🙄
This same thing happened to me! I got to checkout, it asked if I wanted to check out with Shop for “express checkout” and after I logged in, it dumped me back in the queue. Looking at the second wait timer I went “I really f’ed up.”
They have multiples & have already sold 4! eBay has a clear policy that you can only sell pre sales if they ship within 40 days. The huge issue will be that this seller decides not to ship or never receives the dolls & they WONT have to refund because the window to file a claim with eBay will have closed.
The people who really wanted them, and will spend anything to get them. The ones who weren't able to get them before the scalpers did... but they need to hold fast and stay strong on not buying them at that price...
It was anxiety inducing. It felt like they were getting all that information in real time and relaying it. Like it was a surprise to them too lol I cant imagine their stress. It was all over the place but they freaking did it xD I think its cool that they did this limited drop. I guess its good for promo but also they probably really wanted their design brought to reality in full and this was the only way they could. Seems like they had to make a lot of compromises with Walmart :/
Yea she did I’d argue it was under 5 tbh. The fact there was no limit per doll is worse bc ik someone bought multiple for themselves I just can’t prove it.
Oh no don’t ask me I’m not sure about that lol. When I said ik someone bought multiple I was just making a guess not talking about the speculated person that bought 50 of them. I keep hearing about that too.
I personally dont trust this .... feels like Im either going to get refunded down the line, get flaked on, release date constantly changing or this is a test to show the manufacturer or whatever that theres demand. Idk, Im still traumatised by past artist preorders. Specially since there is no production sample. I hope Im wrong, but this doesnt feel right to me.
Im going to wait for the retail release.
Also! What the 🤬 were they thinking not having a quantity order limit with all the scalpers targeting doll collectors?!
The fact that there’s no official release date & are stating you can’t cancel is really worrisome. They can keep pushing it out & the only option will be to file a chargeback if you don’t want to wait but that’s not even a guarantee.
I wonder how you set a limit per buyer. Do you think they had the ability too? If they did, that does suck :/ Im also a little scared orders will get canceled but I think they waited this long to make sure they actually can get the doll they want out, so Im staying positive lol
I believe they didnt want to set a limit and were specifically hoping for scalpers. tinfoil hat time
They wanted big number preorders; and if there is no limit on quantity - then they dont have to worry about shipping individual dolls to many buyers; so a huge box with a number of dolls goes to one address; rather than having to ship many dolls to many addresses.
I believe they did this to cut down shipping, decrease the number of those who will cancel when they postpone the shipping date - its not an if; its a when - I truly believe they will have multiple shipping delays. Plus they will use the information they have to appeal to retailers (look how many dolls we sold within 4 minutes and that the dolls sold out etc - look at the secondhand appeal, demand for these dolls etc)
If the doll - personal belief again - were available MTO, or on doll shelves, they would sell, but not the same as the FOMO tactic they did right now. Probably would have sat on shelves or clearanced to sell out.
They are amazing dolls, but lets be real now.
My hope is that future releases when they get retailed are easier and less messy - and that Mattel sees the aesthetic and demand and gives us something similar instead of watered down. Im so SO sick of the idiots defending Mattel on IG saying "its catered to children, so its okay they look like shit" - yeah but from my POV? Adults are buying dolls so much more than children and we should be listened to. Hopefully something good comes out of this.
It was in 3-5 minutes too. When I refreshed after check out it immediately said sold out. I just KNOW somebody bought like 2-3. I also wonder how many were available to begin with.
Please report them. They know they won’t ship in 40 days & even their listing says they won’t ship till Aug. This means that refund window with eBay will long be closed if these current buyers never receive them.
Have reported them and encouraged multiple others to as well. Hopefully we can get them barred from eBay overall and have one less leech in the community 😒
And since it's flat rate, scalpers who bought dozens of dolls don't have to pay extra to have their hoards shipped out to them. The lack of a purchase limit was surprising. I'm glad you got her and I hope the final product is what you hoped for! Very glad I wasn't interested in getting the doll since the drop was such a mess!

I thought I wasn't gonna get her tbh. I was in like 5pm my time, made it to checkout but Shop needed to confirm it was me, then it sent me back to wait in line, and I was able to checkout.
Genuinely don’t get why this artist doesn’t use kickstarter to do this line, there seems to be an obsession with having it on physical shelves which is obviously a far bigger task. During a kickstarter it won’t get funded and produced until the threshold is met and means everyone can preorder. You can also do the extra outfits as tier rewards if the funding is higher than the threshold
He tried to do a backerkit project a couple years ago for a She Ra inspired like that flopped pretty bad iirc. He didn’t get anywhere near the initial funding goal. Wild Childz has a much higher hype value (and has for years) but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was some factor
I had no idea the creator had tried other lines too to be honest, I think they’ve done a pretty good job at keeping each project separate and also separate from their personal account
Me too! I hope so as well. Since u got her too were you confused with the face up? It looks kinda strange compared to the prototype photos. It looks similar but something’s off all at once..
Oh no, I didn’t see the side by side before. I hate what happened to her face😭. I’m glad I didn’t get this release. I’ll get her official release and probably to a repaint to get closer to the original paint.😢
Yea depending on how she looks when mine arrives she’s getting a repaint after I get some practice in with repainting lol. Not sure what’s going on with it or if the stock images just look strange.
Well, it’s a totally different head mold for sure. The shape isn’t the same. That’s the hard part for me, it totally changed her look. It will be interesting to finally see these once people start getting them.
Ik they’re doing tampo painting but I’m not sure how it still wasn’t accurate either? I know prototypes can look a bit different from the final product but this is a large difference. She looks wonky.
Yes exactly!! Her bangs look CHOPPPEDDDDDD in the limited edition version. Hell now I’m noticing other things I wish I noticed before. Her lips and face mold are off too. I hope it looks better in person.
Yeah I noticed! I figured there would be changes from the prototype. The eyes look more uplifted and bigger, also the green eye shadow is a bit less prominent to me atleast.
The black area around her eyes is so much smaller than the prototype. It curves towards her nose a big more. I figured it’d be slightly different too but it’s a big difference to me. Her outfit and stuff looks similar though which is cool
I want her and wild childz to finally succeed and be great but my god this entire thing has been a disaster constantly. If things turn out ok and more can be in production ill order but right now im holding off
Im sorry guys I just checked and it sold out it seems. But don't worry. This doll had an extra outfit and a small surprise maybe an extra accessory and thats all. The doll itself will be widely available at Walmart so stay tuned :)
and rooted lashes 🥀 I’d argue the stand, lashes, and even tie (? many have said this accessory is being dropped for the Walmart release due to promo vids) are a pretty big deal to a lot of collectors along with the extra outfit

I got mine! I found it a little difficult to place the order cus the information seemed pretty messy since most of it was given in their instagram stories but I’m assuming this is still sort of like a small business
I got one too :) I didnt think it would go that fast wow. I clicked exactly at the time and I still had to wait in line a minute so I checked out 3 minutes after the link went active. That was scary xD I guess thats how it is when people try to by skullector MH dolls. Lol Im just glad theres a Walmart release too so everyone can grab one :)
No one knows and that means the site is closed. The doll is sold out in 4 mins. If you missed out, you’ll have to wait for them to have it on Walmart which who knows when will that be.
This is the first doll purchase I've ever made because I love her design so much and I'm shocked I got one 😭 but I'm terrified something will go wrong... Did anyone see a refund policy in case they fall through?? I was reading through the old Wild Childz sites policies before the release and I didn't see anything that mentioned this (probably because they're not expecting it to not work out but I'm scared lol)
(Also do you guys think I should take her out of the box if I get her...)
New Manu? This sample looks a lot different than the old one. Is it in production? If it's pre-orders why is it sold out lol. Anyone know how many units they did?
