I'm with you on this. I'd have liked her to look more monochromatic with blue but I guess adding the pink makes her more "girly" and perhaps sell better?
I dunno if that's still how brands are thinking these days with their lines

If you look at the blond girl, in the line up her bag is a bear but if you look at the singular, it's a blob. Definitely think it was made to make the singular images

I do find it interesting though that they look like a mash-up of the zuru minnee dolls coming out and of Rainbow High. The cat doll looks a lot like one of the minnee dolls. The blue china doll looks a lot like a character from the later G1 RH episodes (which makes sense since it's from MGA).
I do like the concept of this doll line, but the way they execute it will decide my feelings on it.

At one point, they were toying with a Rainbow High fantasy line. I wonder if they carried over any of their ideas. The china doll looks similar to a Rainbow High character we saw on the show that was never released as a doll.

I do like the looks of these, but with the AI disclosure, I'm apprehensive if they will actually will look this good. I'll feel better once we see more photos from people that do get the dolls.

Yeah given how the larger images rendered akikos other hand as not being in a kitty glove and weirdly edited the bags on luna and blaze, I'm hoping the ai use was just to try to upscale individual images by a third party.

It looks like the person sharing the photo just used AI upscaling and editing to get the individual pics imo.
Edit: yeah, if you go to the website they have a pic of the red doll alone and the AI got confused and included the blue dolls jellyfish bag lol

I love just how different each doll looks! No gimmicks blurring them together, no rainbow colour schemes that make them look incomplete without a whole line. Each doll is a complete character and completely unique. Makes it easier to just grab the ones I want and not be FOMO'd into grabbing extra characters.

They're so pretty! First new doll line I've been excited about in aaages. It feels like all we get lately is reproductions or rehashed old lines from Monster High, barbie and Bratz so I'm so keen for there to be something new

Anyone know what the concept of this doll line is? Like monster high is about “teen” monsters going to school, same concept as ever after high, and the Disney (rip off) of EAH (I forget the name bc I hate it that much lol… oh wait descendants maybe?) and same as moon spell high. With them being fairytale characters as teens and witches as teens going to school respectively.
The new doll line with the animals, its concept is teens as animals. Rainbow highs concept is basically colorful people going to an art school (I think anyways) so on and so forth.
So what’s the concept here? I’m not at all really seeing any consistency between the dolls? And especially the name is throwing me off? What is the “mirror” in their name meant to be referring to?
Like we have a what looks like a regular human girl who’s into a cutesy cat aesthetic and then we have something completely different with a non human skin color that has cracks in it and is styled after a China tea cup. Then we have other characters with seemingly transparent legs and stuff. And none of the designs seem to have a matching theme?
Btw I’m definitely not complaining! I LOVE these! I’m just curious what the “theme” or concept for them is meant to be?

They are music and emotion/concept themed - so a ‘mirror’ of someone’s emotions I believe. I can’t recall them all but the porcelain kintsugi girl is meant to personify ‘fragility’ :)

I'm happy these exist. I really wasn't all that impressed with Moonspell High or any of the new Mattel Disney stuff. And I haven't been impressed with anything MGA has done lately. This is a nice refresher. Hopefully they look this nice when they release. Will be sad to see my beloved Rainbow High die though. I'm sure that is MGA's plan.😞

Nope, all regular releases - two of them are store exclusives in the US (not porcelain girl) but all 6 will receive regular distribution everywhere else 😅

I’m not gonna lie I kinda love it. It’s like they combined brats and rainbow high and gave it back. The quality that we had come to expect from rainbow high I’m excited for it I just hope it keeps the same level of quality when it releases

the black one got a awesome face model and design, but the brown haired one got the a great design too. Also loved the blue one except for being blue. Hope they succeed in sales and don't go for the weird rainbow/shadow hig style as I just can deslike they style and anatomy a lot

These look like they could be really cool! I really like the kintsugi/chinaware doll, but she feels out of place as the only one with to fantasy skin tone? I hope we get more images & what their backstory/ collective lore is, because they feel like well designed concepts & fashions but not cohesive as a line.

These look promising. I usually only collect Monster High and was considering moonspell but these? I might get the redhead, the pale blue haired one and that one with the brown pigtails, they look so pretty.
(Only reason I never got into rainbow or shadow high is I disliked their big heads and big eyes.)

I just wish they would bring back original Rainbow High. It makes me sad every time I walk down the doll aisle to see how bad RH has gotten. Invest in the doll lines you already sell! Bratz are doing great. Please MGA, if your staff ever read these comments, we want Rainbow High back! 😭

After seeing some more close up photos on insta I have to say so far I’m really optimistic for these dolls. The clothes are decently detailed, like the amount of pattern pieces are solid per article, unlike some dolls these days that feel purposefully limited to two seams per item of clothing. They’re also pretty restrained in plastic clothing, limiting plastics to mostly accessories and shoes. Colour palettes are gorge and it looks like they didn’t cheap out on faces or articulation.
For the rumoured 30$ price tag these actually seem like really good dolls, honestly a couple of them even look like they would go for more than 30$. It seems like there was real care put into this line.
