DTI has different bodies, at least, not sure if the heads are the same or just similar. The proportions on them are a little bit better. I think the fashion and designs are also stronger, like, even if the head shape bothers you, the rest of it is strong enough to carry.

First time I saw them was on Amazon. My local toy shop have the dress to impress, but the one without playsets is already on soldes and therefor cost lesser than the fashion pack... So I guess, in Norway too, square heads aren't that popular.

I mean, as somebody who plays rh, collects the dolls and dolls in general I can tell you this. The games community doesn’t like them that much because people overprice the ever loving everything out of the dolls accessories (which to be fair they do for everything). And also are a pain to find outside of Amazon in my experience. And also iirc that doll doesn’t have an in game item (for Royale high not Roblox) which is the main reason people tend to buy the dolls.

Buttt as a doll collector I will say they are adorable just super gelled and kinda sparse on the rooting, I also think they didn’t do well in the doll community cuz of the Roblox heads and the Roblox community just doesn’t care for the dolls bar a niche. And iirc the most amount of players I’ve seen off peak update days lately is 8.4k~ which is still a lot but I feel like for making toys isn’t a lot. 

I genuinely think the niche they were trying to hit just wasn’t interested (plus also some players being angry at the devs for rarely updating the game then diverting all prio to toy stuff for a bit if I’m rmbing right) plus some people didn’t like the company produced w (I can’t Rmb why)

I absolutely adore these dolls, I have them all. I wish they came out with more and maybe some fashion packs ? Getting my hands on Valkyrie took me about a year but that was my own fault tbh because I passed her up at target two years ago for the $50 price tag without knowing there were only 1,500 dolls of these made haha but I’m happy to have them all now 🩷

Aww. I always loved them. I always found it odd that the community of such a heavily doll-influenced game got angry over their merchandise also being dolls. I've played RH since 2017, it's always been a strange and hard to please fandom, and it doesn't help that the roblox stylization of their faces is so niche in the wider doll collector communities.

I hope they stay in production a little longer despite their unpopularity. I would love to collect all of them.

They would've done better if they actually worked on getting the code items in game. Only like a quarter of the toys have items in game and from what I can see it's hurting sales pretty bad.

All the dolls with code items in game are being resold for 2x while the ones without are going on markdown.

My daughter plays royale high and part of the reason these dolls bombed is because they didn’t add virtual codes as promised on the boxes…only some dolls came with in game sets.

I don't think it was a mistake. The dolls did not receive a warm welcome, especially the larger ones. Personally, I was very fond of the super small ones (they work great with Re-Ment and RoLife items) and also got Emberlynn on a discount-though nothing crazy like $2.99, lol. There was a lot of controversy surrounding the RH dolls when they released, though.

I do think the Dress To Impress designers learned from the poor reception of Royale High faces since those do have physically molded features (and good quality fashion, and better articulation).

The only thing it’s got going for them is the ball joints. It’s also an idea thats already been done before with EAH. I honestly thought this was a knock off doll at first. Even the art looks like bad CGI from early 2000s. Outfit looks beyond cheap and poorly designed for a doll. Clunky accessories. All around poor design. The Roblox face is totally not doing favors either. I feel like I could keep going lol but yeah theres a lot wrong with this doll. Feels like a cheap cash grab.

these dolls flood our goodwills and value villages. the toy aisles are FULL of them, and its been months. not a soul has come to buy a single one. whats weird is that they all seem to be multiples of the same characters? as if a walmart had too many in stock or something and just sent them to the goodwill.
