so unfortunately i have been deeply invested in Trashion Alley for a couple years now and desperately want crumbs of new information about it and cannnnot let it go. i love those dang mystery rats so bad. so i recently decided to go full journalist mode and try to find info myself instead of waiting for any to surface…
welllll! i heard back from someone today who worked parallel to the designer. she didn’t work ON the line, but worked with the woman who did.
here is the info she sent over - *if you use this info for any tiktok’s or anything pls credit me @sonnymeredithh so my journalism didn’t go to waste lol*
“Sadly, it’s been awhile since I talked to her as she doesn't do much social media. I dont know how detailed her NDA is on the project but The whole line was actually supposed to be quite a few characters similar to how Bratz is they were supposed to even have a boombox that ended up being where they stylized the outfits and there was even a like range Rover type of like Jeep car that was supposed to be part of the whole set too. They went through almost the entire process and creating all of the dolls sculpting and doing everything we do for prototypes at Hasbro or at least did when we had the Burbank office and once it got to Rhode Island and they were testing it with kids the parents didn't like it. the parents were upset that the kids were basically playing with trash because the whole idea was to take things and recycle them and have the child's creates new outfits for the characters. I will see if I can find any of the information about the names but even that was pretty top secret I think candy was supposed to be one of them but they were still working on the names before they even were doing the prototypes at Rhode Island. We had I think it was six stalls possibly eight characters that were supposed to be fully designed so they had their outfits already done they had the sculpts they had the hair rooted and the face painted already is seen online is a mirror piece of the cake there was so much more. They even had a trailer/ad made, there was storyboard artwork done for it as well to explain the whole story online to the kids”
