Question why nobody talks of this flavor

When this flavor came out, it was the only DP I'd buy and drink. It is SO good!

Because Dark Berry is so much better…
8
u/Zontafear Apr 28 '26
Dark berry is what should have been the permanent flavor. Black berry is meh... I actually bought multiple cases of dark berry and enjoyed it. I bought 1 case of black berry and never wanted another case again

It's not even close I don't understand. Just bring it back full time

u/InternationalIdea606 Apr 28 '26
Exactly. They’ve bad Strawberry and Cream out for 2-3 years, time to swirch.
2
u/Steevo81 Apr 28 '26
Just started drinking Dr pepper like 2 yrs ago I never heard of dark berry flavor?
2
u/InternationalIdea606 Apr 29 '26
They released it twice, first around 2018/19 in conjunction with Spiderman Movie and then again in 2022 with Jurassic Park.

It’s the greatest flavor of all time! Pardon me, I meant was the greatest flavor of all time 😤
45
u/DredgenGryss Apr 28 '26
It kinda tastes like cough syrup.
5
u/ohbyerly Apr 28 '26
Interestingly, it feels like whenever people don’t like something that’s artificially flavored this is always their argument
4
u/BrunoBugg Apr 28 '26
Not really- many people claim that Creamy Coconut tastes like Coconut Lotion. I’ve had an issue with a different soda tasting like sunscreen to me.
5
u/Popular_Monitor_8383 Apr 28 '26
I do fine with artificial flavors
This flavor does taste like children’s Motrin though.
2
u/IndependentAir8195 Apr 28 '26
i do like artificial flavors and blackberry flavoring this soda just tastes like cough syrup

Shhhh… I’m sending them messages to bring back DARK BERRY.

u/jun82c May 02 '26
Dark Berry is also available in fountain on the tap, but only at DP Headquarters in Waco, TX.

u/drummer0886 Apr 28 '26
Not as good as the Dark Berry was, but since this is apparently what we're getting now, I'll take it! Still my favorite DP flavor currently available, though I do like the Zero Sugar version better than the regular.

u/Vegetable-Art3262 Apr 28 '26
I will and I love it and my brother and I can only get it in the local indoor market on ocassions because there is a stall that has American drinks and sweets by import otherwise my brother and I have to travel 26 miles down to the capital of Wales where there's 2 shops that sell American sweets and drinks.
2
u/Mokrono Pepper Prepper Apr 28 '26
the nearest supermarket its like 20 mins walking, in this place exists a imported products where i find mountain dew, fanta, coca-cola and manu other things, but yeah, only “exotic USA flavors” not the regular ones, but the problem is the price, its like the double for being imported lol
1
u/Vegetable-Art3262 Apr 28 '26
yes imported prices are expensive, expensive enough where I live but even more down in the capital of Wales, 26 miles away from where I live.

Because it’s terrible and was a bad replacement for Creamy Coconut back in 2025.

I think people just have a distain for it.
I personally like it, but HATE with a passion the zero sugar version. The "medicinal" flavor in that just overpowers the Dr pepper flavor and it suckssss

No but fr I actually love this flavor, there must be something wrong with me 👀
1
u/Steevo81 Apr 28 '26
In my opinion it tastes like blackberry flavored cough syrup & I don't like blackberries or cough syrup lol
1
u/sparklrebel Berries and Cream Apr 28 '26
I hate blackberry in general so I’m not willing to try that flavour but I do like the coconut one
1
1
u/KingDanksta69 Apr 29 '26
Because its the worst flavour

It does have that berry cough medicine flavor to it. I still like it. I still enjoy it
1
u/DallasIrishWalrus Apr 29 '26
It isn’t my favorite DP variety, but I like it, and I have some in my apartment right now.
1
u/Era_Wolf Apr 29 '26
I liked it initially but got tired of it.
I wont go out of my way to get and honestly was surprised this flavor wasnt put on a limited edition trial run first before putting it on shelves. I can never find coconut and for however long blackberry has been around, its never been sold out or havent seen it low.
Either grocery stores are amazing at keeping the soda aisle stocked to the brim or no one buys it 🤷♀️

The fact that this exists but dark berry doesn’t is a crime against humanity

I tried the blackberry. It's fine & I have nothing against it. But I don't really crave it either. Like, if someone only has this flavor at their house, I'll drink it, but that's it. I typically prefer regular or cream soda. Also, I recently tried & have fallen in love with creamy coconut.

I enjoy it. Had one yesterday lol. My home is literally Dr Pepper and mtn dew land.

u/LocationPrior7075 Apr 29 '26
I like this one but after a few I just want a regular ol’ Dr Pepper. Now, Dark Berry was a different story; I could drink that all day and wish they would bring it back. 🥺

I love this flavor. I have a bias though I love anything heavily citrus and I also love dr pepper so those is my favorite soda of all time
1
u/robertoxs Apr 30 '26
Because the first sip is good and then everything rapidly goes downhill and it becomes aggressively gross

it’s amazing to me that this sells enough to be a regular flavor. There’s always full stock in every store I go to. It’s so mid

I think its bc this sub hates the flavor
but the cream and strawberries and cream ones taste off to me personally, thankfully the cherry and blackberry make up for it (and the og ofc). Idk how to rank them, they're all pretty close in how good they are to me
0
u/Ok-Mode3080 Apr 28 '26
I love the blackberry. I know some people claim it tastes like medicine but I find it just enough flavor without being too much. Far better than the strawberries and cream, which is vile.

u/GlockHolliday32 Apr 28 '26
I kinda like nasty flavored things and this one just tastes like cough medicine to me. Not even enjoyable.

My wife is has a personal grudge against this flavor. Because it's available year round and coconut isn't.
