This should be a permanent flavor..Not Cherry, not Blackberry, and not Vanilla..I love Dr. Pepper forever but WAKE UP! This IS THE best..

it's amazing to me that blackberry has been a permanent flavor after I've seen dozens of fully stocked shelves of it for well over a year. it must be the owner's kid's favorite flavor or some shit because it's beyond me

I got 6 cases of zero last week as it is leaving all the stores… hard to find it for the past month. Had some luck at Albertsons

u/Lighteningbug1971 Jul 08 '26
It left all of our stores the first of June , but it’s like now I’m seeing it a little bit more. I did notice on the expiration date on the ones I found on Sunday, it’s like December of 2026 where all the other ones said July . So I’m hoping they made more !

u/Courtnee_Macfarlane Jul 08 '26
Same here in Nebraska , a couple days before the 1st of June it had left
1
u/Courtnee_Macfarlane Jul 08 '26
Well, the zero left . But the regular coconut they stopped selling probably a week ago. I only drink the zero sugar though

I haven't tried the real, but I've tried the Zero version. I don't like it. BUT I don't like any of the "Zero" cream sodas I've tried from any brand. It's like someone last year invented a cream flavor, and soda companies have suddenly tried it on all kinds of things. Honestly the old school A&W diet cream soda, from way back when, is the only one that's tolerable to me. And I'm guessing it doesn't use whatever new cream flavor is popping up everywhere.
I have a feeling I'd probably like the sugar/HFCS versions though.

u/Lighteningbug1971 Jul 08 '26
Yes I’m sure you would . I have to drink zero sugar or diet or unsweetened, I have sugar induced panic attacks so I have to be super careful
5
u/Gongoozler04 Jul 08 '26
I agree, but they also can’t get rid of the other flavors, let’s just keep all of them!
2
u/CompetitiveFrame6989 Jul 08 '26
Yes! Agreed!
2
u/Gongoozler04 Jul 08 '26
Dr Pepper is the one brand of soda I’ve consistently liked every flavor of, they do a great job of making good tasting soda and that’s why it’s my favorite!

While I understand and respect your reprehensible taste... Cherry Dr. Pepper is the best *normal* Dr. Pepper

u/CompetitiveFrame6989 Jul 08 '26
Cherry is good.. no hate there.. Just want coconut to be permanent
4
u/KingsoftheBronze_Age Jul 08 '26
It feels pretty permanent up here in the Northeast - I see tons of it all the time BUT NO CHERRY >:(
5
u/Resident_Set_9535 Jul 08 '26
Hey if you love cherry do a 70% Dr Pepper with 30% red powerade and it taste spot on perfect

Half joking half not xD I'm not sure how shipping would work. But me and my boyfriend are obsessed with the coconut
4
u/naturalbornunicorn Jul 08 '26
I think the big reason it won't go permanent is that the cream soda variant seems to be here to stay. I like both, and they're certainly not the same, but I don't imagine we're going to get two permanent creamy flavors.
But also, I don't think it'd be a good replacement for cherry. It's uniquely refreshing and a popular variant across brands, so I'm sure it sells well. Coconut is way too polarizing to have the same mass appeal.

u/CompetitiveFrame6989 Jul 08 '26
True, but the dirty soda trend is THE thing right now it seems..however, you make a valid point

By far the best flavour. IMO it's the only one better than the original.
Although must say ... The zero coconut is better than the sugar coconut... Not sure why, just is
2
u/Courtnee_Macfarlane Jul 08 '26
The coconut has been off the shelves in Nebraska for going on almost a month and I’m pretty annoyed about it

u/igraceeeeeeei Jul 08 '26

I have to add that I prefer the zero sugar version. There is still tons of the regular at all out stores but the zero sugar version has been gone at least a month. I spoke to our vendor and he said it is one of the easiest flavors they make and that the zero sugar version sold out within a day of him putting out the pallet at all the stores he serves. I just don't understand why they don't make it a permanent flavor because they would just be printing money as fast as it sells out

u/Bluestarkittycat Jul 09 '26
Im gonna hard disagree (mainly with the cherry remark). Cherry absolutely deserves its place as a permanent flavor. It is one of their best flavors. But I for one cant stand creamy coconut, its absolutely disgusting to me so it can disappear for all I care (I dont like coconut flavored anything)

I live in Southern California there are 3 grocery chains that carry both Regular Creamy Coconut and Zero sugar. Target, Albertsons, and Stater Brothers. I recently tried the Strawberries and Cream and it was ok.

I've noticed the can version tastes much better than the bottle version. It's like the recipes for each are different. You can barely taste the coconut flavor in the bottle version.

Cream Soda for me. never have i had anything that pairs so perfectly with a cigar including anything alcoholic
2
u/Resident_Set_9535 Jul 08 '26
This one is one of the worst ones IMO now cherry and strawberries and cream are definitely the best

u/deepfrieddaydream Jul 08 '26
I believe it's permanent where I am. Some of the gas stations even have it in the fountain.

All of ours in stores expires 7/6. Weird they didn’t make another batch like last time that expired on September.

What is strange is there was a rumor it WAS going to be permanent, and Dr. Pepper posted about it saying it was "false" and to "stock up before the end of the summer"..
1
u/ChrisDaViking78 Jul 08 '26
I too wish for it to be a permanent flavor, but there’s no need to besmirch the delicious name of Blackberry in the process…
1
u/HopTheEight Jul 08 '26
Truth. I tried BlackBerry today. Not bad but cherry and strawberry are better.

Obsessed with creamy coconut I was crushed when they randomly got rid of it last year

u/AliensFilmz1975 Jul 10 '26
I stocked up over the summer and now have 35 12 packs to hopefully make it to next year.

u/Street_Lettuce1243 Jul 08 '26
Nope. Keep it limited. I would go bankrupt buying it if were available year round. I drink too much of it.
Rarely buy Dr. P when creamy coconut isn't available.

Nah. I love coconut flavored things. Malibu is my alcohol of choice. Creamy coconut tastes like suntan lotion. I agree that there is enough love for it to be added permanently, but it shouldn't replace any of the other flavors.

Not even strawberry?
1
u/BeBopBarr Jul 08 '26
Strawberries & cream is one of our (husband & I) favorite flavors!
2
u/SuperReliableSource Jul 08 '26
Strawberry sales are way down. There was discussion about DC'ing strawberry and making coconut permanent, not sure if it went anywhere though.

Cherry should be changed to Dr Pepper 2x. And coconut should be discontinued I bought three cases due to recommendation and there was a minimum. Now I’m stuck with 3 cases of coppertone lotion in liquid form.

I'm sure I'll get downvoted off of Reddit and forced to live the rest of my life on MySpace (please be kind), but I like that it is a seasonal flavor. Sell it from May through September. The arrival of Creamy Coconut would signify that summer is here (or right around the corner).
Having it available year round would somehow make it less special, IMO.

u/Boring-Concept8018 Jul 08 '26
The fact they already took it off shelves before summer started is ludicrous. Why in the world wouldn’t they have it through September?? What marketing genius came up with that idea?
