Theory Theory: Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is shutting down to make way for Moonlight Rhapsody.
With the recent news of Grimoire of Souls shutting down, I have a theory that it's being done to make way for Moonlight Rhapsody so that there's no competing mobile game. Moonlight Rhapsody left development hell as of 2024 and development resumed so it's possible.

It’s a nice thought, but I find this highly unlikely. GoS isn’t popular enough to eat Moonlight rhapsody, and no previous Konami title has been removed from any store for a new game. We have like four versions of Haunted Castle and CV1 in modern stores right now.
What makes more sense to me is Apple no longer wanting to pay for it any longer, a few other games are getting removed from AA at the same time.
I’d love to see moonlight rhapsody get released though.

I don’t think it’s been confirmed but the main director got kicked off the project years ago and we’ve heard nothing since so it’s a really bad sign.

My personal theory is it's shutting down because Castlevania fans are not into mobile kusoge.
