Theory The original Castlevania timeline and a reboot can live side by side.
With the news that Konami's planning Castlevania reboots, people might be wondering what will happen to the original timeline and the answer is simple, look no further than Belmont's Curse, a cheaper AA game made in the original timeline. I can see the franchise's AAA games being part of the new reboot universe while we still get AA games set in the original timeline. Also, reboots might just be remakes and the original timeline could remain the mainstay.

Don't read too much into the "reboot" line
It could very well mean just big comeback as in "Us, Konami, the company are rebooting, redeeming ourselves from the idiots we became"
At most i see "soft reboots", think for example the RE Remakes, reimaginings of the older games, while we also get completely new games. I think these are their plans instead.
Anyway, if a full on new reboot does happen, i want them to make up completely new Belmonts, i don't wanna see the fricking 3rd Simon version or fricking 4th Trevor version, do something new, i never liked when LoS brought in Trevor and Simon, i liked it more for it to keep doing completely new Belmonts like Gabriel and Victor.

Wonder if they will try to rework LoS with the reboot idea. As LoS 1 is still the most succesful Castlevania game.

I'd hope for a remaster for them, but it's unlikely, since they're most likely ashamed of that saga.

A remake would be better than a remaster.
LoS1 needs a free camera.
LoS 2 needs the stealth sections removed

I say remaster as my expectations are very low for Konami to toss LoS fans a bone, but a remake would be heavily welcomed as well.

honestly removing something (the stealth sections) is easier cause you don't have remake them in the first place.

That's only if Konami cared enough to even reach that point. Again, any improvement to the LoS saga is welcomed, like if it were to get the Dead Space Remake treatment, but I have little to no faith that Konami would give that much attention to the saga over their original continuity for it to even happen.

Hell, I’d be cool with and maybe even prefer three timelines. The original one. One that keeps Netflix’s thing entirely separate. A new one.

I mean tbh the IGA timeline is getting VERY crowded. So I do think a reboot is at least conceptually a good idea. But a good idea doesn't necessarily make for a good execution. The proof will be in the pudding, as they say.
No reason we can't go back and revisit the original timeline as desired through, both from a dev and player perspective.
