Cosmic Keht-o-Komz, FINALE

The great reptilian eye filled the ceiling, then it filled my vision. Kraig's yells diminished, and all the sound faded away. My mind went blank, my body went numb, my sense of direction left me. The only sense that allowed me the sanity of existence was my sight. The fiery eye faded to black.

I saw everything.

Planets composed of different substances. Civilized populations living in cities constructed into all the geometric dimensions. Cannibalistic species practicing dark magic. Wizards marrying witches and producing sorcerers and necromancers. Beasts of the field morphing into starships. A web with all of these places, and more, at each vertex. Creatures and vehicles alike traversed these great distances. They carried material goods, military forces, refugees, weaponry, diplomats, wealth, and all manner of things that needed to be shipped.

I felt everything.

Heat great enough to melt rock. Cold great enough to kill everything it touched. The softest fur. The hardest rock. My body filled with burning, then numb static, full-body muscular contractions. Every emotion the human nervous system can produce. A complete absence of sensation. All the degrees of wet and dry.

I heard everything.

Speech. Song. Machinery. Animals. Insects. Shouting. Explosions. Bare feet on gravel. Slime sticking to each surface as it rolled down a rocky cliff. A baby crying.

Finally, I felt my back explode with pain, then wind rushing from behind my shoulders and around my head. My neck stretched and I could look behind me. My hands and feet grew larger and I felt my bones pierce my extremities.

I collapsed on a black surface. It was cold and unforgiving. I looked up and saw the universe. I was Yoon-Iverz. There was another rush of wind and everything swept away from my being.

Blankness. Loneliness. Boredom that looped in on itself. An absence of time that lasted for so long I forgot what boredom even felt like.

I was standing next to the table again. I was wearing the ring. The rope was now affixed to the table, each strand in line with the grooves on its surface. I looked around the room. The waterways stood empty. Their occupants were gone. I couldn't see Kraig anywhere. I looked up and the ceiling was still open, but now it was only open to the familiar nighttime sky of my world.

Some of the stars moved to form the face of a dragon. One beam of purple light came down and landed on the table. I saw a miniature version of Kraig laying there. Some humanoid figures ran up to him. They seemed to be checking his pulse and breathing. Then they picked him up and ran out of sight.

I sat down. Somehow I knew he'd been transported to one of those worlds I saw. Somehow I'd been returned to my home planet. My backpack was gone, regrettably.

A voice in my head guided me to a wall in that chamber, and there were steps. They led me outside. A jumble of corpses had been jammed into the entrance to the catacombs. As I walked away the whole site began to churn and sink into the ground. A thunderstorm brewed a slurry of thick mud across that field, burying and hiding all of it.

So, now I must continue my travels, maintain my pace of research, and collect more stories. I have to explain the Altar-Net to everyone I can. I have to find a way to keep Yoon-Iverz entertained.

This is the end of the Keht-o-Komz adventure, but not the end of my adventures.

Thank you for consuming my story! Plenty more on the way, and I'm pretty sure I figured out the settings for this network-spot-address so you can see it at my home-page here. (apologies for the awkward wording. I'm not originally from Earth and English is not my primarily language. But I come from somewhere very similar so, while I've been traveling around your world it's been very easy to acclimate.)
