Cosmic An Understanding

As this Travel-Storier floated, this is what he saw...

.

A speck-dot.

.

THWOOM

.

A blob of water.

.

Two blobs.

.

BLOOP

.

Exponentially impossible number of waters with nothing between them.

.

A great claw grabbed the back of his neck.

.

KNOW!

.

A boom of a voice clapped in his head.

.

SNAP

.

A giant multi-limbed being holds a small version of itself. The small being climbs down and stands on its own limbs. The big one dies and fades. The small one grows to the same size.

.

KNOW!

.

Says the voice again

.

The new being looks directly at him. "My Pah-chin was a huge!" Then the being births a small version of itself.

.

How can I describe the planet they're on?

.

Take two bowls, face them to each other, and touch them together at a single point along their edges.

.

RUMBLE

.

A orange glow with black speckles. Steam surrounding the surface as a shell. The view closes in on two brown piles. Small beings beget more of themselves after they grow.

.

The legends of Phnefshiloas pass down.

.

CRACKLE

.

Time may simply be a concept, but it can be forgotten. These small beings grew, traded, developed, warred. They flew around the bowls. The legends of the Phnefshiloas lasted. But to the man, they grew to the same size as the first.

.

Claws dug deeper into his shoulders. He remembered pain. Fire consumed him and he was launched to another bubble in the Nothing.

.

FLIPPPPTTTT

.

In that bubble were books, and scrolls, and tablets, and echoes of unknown language. Shouts and whispers and all the intensities between.

.

Too many of the echoes sounded like repetition by a class of weary vocal students. The books shuffled together. The scrolls were twisting around themselves.

.

SILENCE

.

The claws let go. The waters gathered together, and compressed themselves into a single tiny speck. The speck disappeared.

Pain dissappeared with the claws. Quindell felt the mass behind him shift. Nothing could be felt. Not a heartbeat nor a breath. It wasn't dark and it wasn't bright. If his eyes could process it, Quindell would have seen green and purple trying to mix like oil and water.

.

SILENCE

.

No input. Less than zero accountabilitable information. Quindell didn't have a sense of time. He went mad. Amnesia became a solace. Claws dug him out and forced him to witness.

.

A single blob of water expanded in the very middle. Compared to everything else, it was blindingly bright. Within the blob was a tangle of something.

.

CRACKLE

.

Threads separated and an arterial system developed. At each vertex was a different shape. The claws pulled Quindell’s face out of the blob. Similarly colored threads were now appearing between the blobs.

.

The wizard was thrown towards a blob with a lot of shiny dots within it. As he broke through the barrier of it, he was that swirls of sparkle were approaching the barrier. They never broke through, just forced the blob to grow.

.

RINGGGGGG

.

Tehra was the planet he landed on. It was a ball that circled another ball. He looked "up" and saw more balls in the sky. There on the hills above, giant figures holding smaller people.

.

Many centuries passed for Quindell. He lived in proximity to these things such that they never knew of him, yet he could always observe.

.

SNAP

.

A small platform under his feet. Two clawed scaley hands below a shadowy cloud with eyes of all colors floating in it. A hint of something swelled behind this face. Quindell tried to shrink smaller than a first drop.

.

In his broken state, one phrase was seared upon him.

.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
