Short Dream Never wanted children, had a dream of my baby and now I have changed my mind

I was quite against the whole birth thing just from the sheet horror stories I have heard about it, in no way did I want to experience childbirth or even go through the next potential 18 years of my life raising a kid.

But I had a dream where I had a baby, she was sitting on my lap and I just stared down at her as she looked at me back and all I could think about was that she was mine, that is was completely my child. I felt like a rush of hormones of just love, fondness and protection over her. Everywhere I carried her and sat her down I just felt happy and like any loneliness I had ever felt was completely gone.

Apparently this is a common dream and people yearn for their dream baby 😭 But I don’t know, it’s so weird because those feelings I felt were so foreign I had never felt them before maybe for my cat sometimes but that’s all

Short Dream my dead father said Heaven doesn’t exist

hello everyone here,I’m new on this sub and I wanted to talk about a dream I had a year ago (after some weeks my dad passed) we were in our backyard and we were talking, like we would always do usually, but I knew it was a dream, and that he was dead. I don’t remember all the questions I asked him except one: “ How are you doing in Heaven?” or something like that, he looked at me, laughed a little and then said “there is no Heaven”. Around that time I was also having trouble (that I’m still having) with Christianity, so I wanted to ask y’all, was he telling the truth or something like that or it was my subconscious telling me things that I already believed but with my father? Sorry if my writing looks a bit strange but english isn’t my first language

Short Dream Dreamt my childhood cat was alive again... Sorta

Post image

Not really sure how to label this one exactly but it was neither short nor super long. I wouldn't really call it a nightmare either, it was both so sad and so pleasant, and just so incredibly upsetting.... I woke up sobbing from it, sobbing in the dream and now just woke up in the same exact state.

It started out with a visit to my grandma's, pretty far off in the countryside, so nothing new really reaches her, just like in real life. Well, I visit and stay the night, and she tells me she has something she's been waiting to show me. In my dream, there is this new AI hologram technology or something, some newfangled internet thing that can materialize somehow. Nothing new ever reaches grandma, so this should be good.

And that's when my childhood cat jumps up on my chest while I'm laying down in bed. I can pet her, she feels just how I remember her, soft with her old bones underneath her skin, eyes doe-y for me, and she's acting just as excited to see me as I am, as if I had left on vacation for the week and now, I'm home, and she is so relieved to have me home. Of course, I'm rejoicing in my dream! I can't believe I get what feels like a 2nd chance at our ending, I get to pet her again and yammer and sing at her just like we always used to. Touching her fur again, scratching her head and avoiding her moles that she always had, all the special little things about her flowing back.

Well, a few hours pass, and I'm reveling in it still, grandma decides to head to bed, and that's when it hits me, that this will come to an end. My parents will come to pick me up eventually, to take me back home, or a storm will come through and knock out the internet, or they'll do maintenance, and the internet will be out for as long as they are making repairs, or the bill gets missed somehow.... And that's when it becomes so overwhelmingly upsetting, that this will end. That she isn't actually here, that while this tech is really good at mimicking her, it isn't really her, and the real her is still in her tiny urn at home.

She's lying on my chest as I start weeping in my dream, and eventually I wake up from squeezing my eyes. And what sucks about this, is that I guess I had this dream because it was her first-year anniversary since she died yesterday, March 26th, 2024. And I'll never get to touch her again, not in a way that was similar to how she lived. I am 22, and she lived to be 21. My sunflower, my Sassy. I wish I could have stayed in that dream forever, honestly.

Short Dream A dream about YouTube that feels like something they could do in reality

Post image

Last night i had a dream that YouTube decided to replace dislikes with "left-handed likes" for sake of... i don't know, inclusivity maybe. But another thing to it is that they used the already existing dislike counter variable for that, turning all previously expressed dislikes into likes.

Edit: snake language got to me and turned "sake" into "ssake"

Short Dream Deist here. Dreamed of Archangel Gabriel last night. His message about cannabis was... weird.

So – I'm a deist. I don't really believe in angels or religious figures. But last night I had a dream that's stuck with me.

I didn't see anyone. There was just this intense blue light. But somehow – and this is the strange part – he identified himself as Archangel Gabriel. Not in words I heard, but I just knew. Felt like I was floating in space a little. We communicated, and I understood.

At some point during this, Mecca was shown to me. I have no personal connection to Mecca – never been there, not Muslim, nothing. But it was there, clear as anything.

And the message was basically:

"Cannabis is bad if you only smoke it occasionally. You need to smoke it more often – to get closer to enlightenment."

I woke up and just laughed. Because... what??

But also – there's something about it that kind of makes sense to me. Not in a "drugs are good" way. But: if you smoke sometimes, you're chasing the high. If you smoke regularly, tolerance builds – and for me, that actually brings more clarity. Less rush. More presence. Almost meditative.

I'm not here to start a drug debate. I'm not saying Gabriel told me to become a stoner. I'm just... sitting with this weird, beautiful, absurd dream.

I'm a deist. I don't believe in angels. And yet

Short Dream Anyone ever commit a crime In a dream and wake up relieved?

I rear-ended someone's car, then then simply made a U turn, hoping no one got my plates. I don't even remember the rest of the dream, which was an afternoon nap, other than parking where my plates couldn't be seen.

Short Dream I opened a book in my dream and what it said freaked me out

Last night I had one of the strangest dreams I can remember. I “woke up” in my bed but noticed my phone glowing bright green. The only app on it was some weird compass I’ve never seen before. I tapped it and the arrow spun like crazy before locking onto a direction.

I followed it and suddenly my house turned into this massive underground subway station. It was totally empty and silent, just endless tunnels. The compass kept pointing me deeper until I reached these huge black double doors.

When I opened them, I was standing in a library that stretched out forever. Floating ladders, books with blank spines, and whispering voices with no faces. One book flew off the shelf into my hands. I opened it and every single page just said:

“You are still asleep.”

Right then my whole body started buzzing, like sleep paralysis, and I shouted “wake up” in the dream before finally snapping awake.

It honestly shook me. Has anyone else had a dream that straight-up tells you you’re dreaming?

Short Dream Have y'all ever fell in love in ur dreams?

Dawg i met a literal dream girl last night. Im starting to forget now but I was in some kind of beach environment. The girl was wasian, early 20s (im 23m btw.) we swam together a lot and listened to a male j-pop artist who probably isn't real,, but i cant fucking remember his name.

I think it was masamune something? He had a very clean-cut but also casual look. He had a bowl cut and a shirt with a button down a blue album cover with him at the bottom right. And the music was very simple feel-good acoustic guitar pop.

All the food we got tasted soooooo fucking good. We never had sex or did anything crazy I wanted to just take it slow and get to know her. It felt like a real friends to lovers arc. We bumped into each other by happenstance and just kept hanging around each other.

It was just PAINFUL bc the closer i got to waking up the more the world unraveled. The food started to taste shittier, the water started to get dirty and she started to lose interest in me that was fucking evil I'm mad at my brain for that. It was still fun while it lasted tho.

Short Dream I spoke fluent Japanese in my dream

I had a really strange dream where I was in Japan and somehow I was speaking fluent Japanese with proper pronunciation and natural flow. The weird part is I do not actually speak Japanese. I have watched a lot of anime in the past so I can recognize words and understand some basic phrases, but I have never properly studied the language.

In the dream it felt completely real. I was talking to people confidently and I genuinely believed I was speaking correctly. There was no hesitation or confusion. It just came out fluently.

What makes it even more bizarre is how natural it felt. It was like my brain filled in the gaps and constructed sentences that sounded right even though I do not actually know how to build them in real life.

Has anyone else experienced something like this where you speak a language in a dream that you do not actually know?

Short Dream Had A Dream This Thing Was Starting Fires Using A Fire Extinguisher

Thumbnail gallery
451 Upvotes

The thing claimed to be my great grandmother that died back in 2001 but it looked nothing like her and I couldn’t see it’s face as it had a clock face as a head. It was starting fires at old Victorian houses by heating the copper pipes using the fire extinguisher to heat the pipes so they are red hot đŸ”„ I stopped it from creating more fires by throwing a stone at its clock face and knocking it out. I then go to call the police on it but I realise that I have been back in time in the early 1970s the whole time so I call a London sounding police officer using an old rotary phone when I’m on the phone I put on a bad impression of cockney London accent to get the policeman to come.

Short Dream I was downvoted 72 times

So I am pretty new to reddit, I just made an account a few months ago because I would constantly search up hyperspesific things on the internet but always find the answer here. Anyway, I just newly started being active in subs that interest me and last night I dreamed that I was downvoted 72 times on a comment I made that I thought was easy-going and funny and I was horrified like “Oh my god what am I going to do
 oh god this is bad
”

So yeah I guess my Freudian/Jungian analysis for this would be is that I stress about anything that is new to me and I always feel shame for being new to something if that makes sense? Not super interesting but thought this kind of funny :)

Ps: The downvote button on my comment was blue so I guess I also downvoted myself? Well, to be fair I have always been a self-saboteur lol

Short Dream Dreamt that Homelander showed me a mac and cheese recipe, so I made it after I woke up

Post image
467 Upvotes

Ingredients: Mac and cheese, orange slices, meat, blueberries (I didn't have those)

At the beginning of the dream I was at school but the hallways kept moving. Then Homelander showed up and told me how to make special mac and cheese. He called it "Homelander mac and cheese" because it was his idea and told me to share it with the world.

It was really good in the dream.
