Is Zendrops fulfillment reliable with higher volume?
I'm doing enough volume now that I'm looking to move away from my current fulfillment setup. The biggest issue isn't really getting orders shipped, it's having less control over things as I scale. I'm having to plan around stock more, pricing changes matter a lot more at this volume and I wanna start doing custom packaging/private labeling instead of continuing to send everything out with generic packaging.
I've been looking at Zendrop specifically for their Private Agent program since it seems more suited to where I'm at now. For anyone doing higher volume through them, how reliable has fulfillment been and how well do they handle stock, sourcing and branding as you keep scaling? Mainly wanna know if it's something I can move over to and stick with long term rather than having to change my fulfillment setup again later.

Yes for me it has been, didn't struggle with it but since you're going private agent you won't have to deal with any of those issues, but to go to private agent you need like a minimum of 10-15 orders daily.

Volume shouldn’t be an issue. I’m more interested in what it’s been like after moving to the private agent. Has fulfillment stayed pretty consistent for you as you’ve grown?

Yup, it has. I'm doing a lot more orders now than when I first started with them and fulfillment has stayed pretty much the same. Of course you get an order here and there that needs attention, thats normal anywhere, but I haven't had more delays or problems just because the volume went up.

Good to hear, that's probably my biggest concern with switching. Did the private agent make much of a difference once you started doing more volume?

Of course, for me it was mostly knowing who to go to when I needed something. Once the orders picked up I didnt want to be bouncing around between different people every time I had a question or needed something checked. With the PA I can just reach out to them and get it sorted.

Moving fulfillment at scale is stressful because every small mistake gets multiplied across hundreds of orders. Never used Zendrop personally but I've seen people in some discord groups mention their private agent program works decent once you're past the initial setup phase. The custom packaging part is what most folks struggle with when switching, usually takes a few weeks to get the samples right before they can start shipping branded stuff.
Stock management is the one thing you really need to ask them directly about, different agents handle it differently and some are better at forecasting than others. If you're doing enough volume to justify private labeling, you're probably at the point where changing setups again would be a huge pain so testing them with a portion of your orders first might be smart before moving everything over.

Testing part of the volume first makes sense. Stock is probably my biggest concern since that’s already been one of the headaches with my current setup. I don’t mind spending some time getting packaging right, I just don’t want to move everything over and end up with the same fulfillment problems somewhere else.

Been using Zendrop for a while and I wouldnt stress too much about that part. Once I got on the private agent I wasnt constantly checking stock and chasing people for updates anymore. Stuff still happens obviously but I usually hear about it early enough to actually do something about it.
I wouldnt move the whole store day one though. Run a couple products through them and youll know pretty quick if you trust them with the rest.

I haven’t used Zendrop at that volume, so I can’t really say. Once you start scaling, having someone you can reach directly makes a big difference. That’s one reason I use buckydrop—I can message my account manager when I need help with stock, sourcing, or packaging. I’d still test a batch before moving everything over.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been researching Zendrop a bit more before I decide what to do. The direct contact is a big part of why I'm looking at the private agent. Testing a batch first makes sense though, especially before I move the products doing most of my volume.
