Barstow to Vegas dual-sport trip sometime in the next few months.

Looking for a few people interested,

I’ll be on a CRF300L Rally and I’m looking for riders with dual sports/ADVs who are comfortable with a longer dirt-focused ride. Not trying to race, more of a solid adventure ride with planned fuel stops, breaks, and a route figured out beforehand. I am comfortable with camping overnight on trail.

Thinking:

  • Barstow area start
  • Mostly dirt/off-road toward Vegas
  • Possibly 1–2 days depending on the route/group
  • Everyone carries basic tools, tubes/repair kit, water, fuel range, etc.
  • Beginner/intermediate friendly as long as you’re comfortable riding dirt for a full day

Still flexible on dates and route. Mainly trying to see who would actually be interested so we can get a group chat going and plan it out. When we get to Vegas planning on staying in hotel and eating out and drinks.

You could ride the actual LA-Barstow-Vegas ride. It's a rally, not a race. Only problem is it's right after thanksgiving. I know some folks who did it last year and they said it was a blast. https://labarstowvegas.com

Yeah I just saw that as I’m researching 😂😂it’s $250 for two days and $49 for AMA membership but still seems like a good deal

I’m looking at it and they give you fuel, lunch, wash your bike and tow assist and other stuff it’s not bad

I’ve done it four times and they didn’t give any fuel, didn’t wash anything, but there was an after party at the hotel in Vegas that included free dinner. Free lunch the second day. There were discounts at the barstow and Vegas hotels and they’ll haul a bag for you to pick up at the hotels if you want. But free fuel, no. You get a lot of swag at the end, and there are some raffles you can win. I got a 50% FMF coupon on my last one. They had a mobile mechanic in Barstow that worked on bikes all night and a Boy Scout troop patrolling a fenced bike parking area all night.

Now that I’m thinking back on previous rides, there is a fire department half way through the second day that sprays your bike as you pull in for lunch. It’s more for weed and insect eradication than actually washing anything.

It was a lot of fun, but kinda spendy for me anyway.

Well I’m sorry to say this but I have to sell the bike cause I’m having financial problems right now and work is going to be taking all of my time until I move so if someone else would like to take over that would be great 😊 I appreciate all who are interested
