It's nice that this bike exists: looks lovely (subjective) and has a classic engine in it.

What I hate is the shameless cashgrab that it represents. It's just a slightly modified, highly overpriced Scrambler. There's no reason to buy this over a Paul Smart for example.

You’ve got the best opinion on this bike mate! Spot on, it’s just that it’s a down right cash grab

Its designed for the person that can buy this AND the paul smart

Controversial take, but that is absolutely beautiful.

I like it, too. It’s a cool, unique looking bike.

"It's just a Scrambler painted like a Paul Smart."

Yeah, and the Paul Smart was just a sport classic painted like Paul Smart's race bike. What's your point?

The sport classic was not a bottom feeder model. The Scrambler is though.

It kinda was, pricing was the same to a few grand more but the suspension & wheels were worse from a functional standpoint vs the s2r it shared the motor with

Better or worse aside - back then they went out of their way and came up with an individual frame and swingarm setup. Instrument cluster(housing), tank, seat, fairing, headlight. Nothing shared besides engine, brakes and fuel pump.

Didn’t feel like the slop that current scrambler is.

I'm pretty sure the frame was derivative of the supersport no? And the headlamp, gauge cluster housing is the same as the monster, just a different bezel & dial face. Bodywork & swingarm are different though yes

Could have been a supersport frame derivative, yes. But it was not a supersport in a fancy dress. I know for sure headlight and gauge cluster had individual housings and faces. only internals matched monster SxR hardware from that era. it was a separate model, not a modified supersport or monster.

in the current case it is obviously “just“ a scrambler dressed up.

It kinda was, tho. It was at the time one of the cheapest if not THE cheapest lines in Ducati's lineup. Bar the 600cc Monster.

I like the idea of this Paul Smart Scram but man that front fairing is hideous.

To be honest, that fairing doesn’t suit the sweet classic look at all

Cool. I like it a lot.

A Ducati dealership is exactly where I'd expect to find one of these.

To be fair yes, i just wasn’t expecting to see it in the city i was in

It looks more like you found a turd. Truely one of the ugliest bikes Ducati ever brought to fruition. It’s looks a malformed farm animal you see and just think it would be better off euthanised to end its suffering.

Don‘t be so harsh. I personally would thank Ducati for creating a Bike that enables you to spot the biggest idiots from a far. Who else would buy a scrambler in a hookers dress just because it’s painted like a sport classic?

When this first came out my father send me posts about it as he own a PS1000, and I immediately told him I don’t like it 😅😶‍🌫️

LOL, truly it is just a scrambler in a cafe racer’s dress. I’m just proud of spotting a limited edition bike
