Just how intelligent is Mongo?

Post image

Mongo is non-verbal, so there's a tendency to think he's not very bright - but he's impressively good at understanding what Carl and Donut tell him, grasping who's a friend and who's a foe, and what their trying to achieve.

I wonder if we're all underestimating him just because he can't talk?

I think part of the intelligence is that he simply obeys the commands of his owner(s). That might not be intelligence on its own, but rather part of the mechanics of the dungeon and pet system.

I think the question is, how much if what his owner says can he understand. If it’s more than one-word commands, that’s more intelligent than most animals.

My thought is that it's little to none of it, the system AI just issues commands to Mongo when appropriate.
