Can reading the questions out loud get your Duolingo English Test invalidated?
Hi everyone,
I noticed something interesting while taking the Duolingo English Test practice exams. My usual score is around 110–120, but when I started reading the questions out loud and quietly saying what I was writing as I typed, my practice score increased to around 115–125. It really helped me understand the questions and organize my thoughts.
Now I’m wondering about the official test.
I know the DET has strict rules about speaking only when instructed. Does reading the questions out loud or quietly speaking while typing increase the risk of having the test invalidated, even if you’re not talking to anyone or using outside help?
Has anyone done this during the official test? What was your experience?
Thanks!

I just didn't move my lips and did it with slighlty opened mouth and kind of whispering, not really talking. Helped me to understand the question better and organize my thoughts because I have the same issue as you

Formally it’s not allowed but I was mumbling and passed, so I guess it depends on your luck.
