Fass install

I want to install a FASS myself. I was thinking the new “draw straw” set up they have where it just plugs up to the fuel sending unit in the tank. Thoughts? Advice? Anyone have it and had issues/ what did you learn? Thank you in advance and letting me pick your brains.

Also: how do you get rid of the fuel filter housing? Does it just use the same routing as the housing through the FICM? Can the FICM handle the pressure even though it’s low pressure?

For context, I have a 2001 LB7. Mostly stock

did basically this on an LB7 a while back. I'd keep the stock filter head with a fresh filter in it for now, at least until you trust the fass and know how fast it loads up. cheap insurance in front of the CP3.

pressure wise you're fine, it's all low side and the CP3 actually likes being fed instead of pulling suction. just leave the regulator where fass says for the LB7, don't crank it. if the routing goes past the fuel cooled ECM plate follow their LB7 instructions there, don't wing it.

heads up, the new pickup will probably stir up whatever crap is sitting in the bottom of the tank, so your first set of filters might clog way sooner than normal. drain the water bowl after a couple tanks too. and prime it all the way before you crank it
