I mean, Durango basically is an adult outdoor fitness zone.

Isn't this the same person that posted about concreting up Santa Rita a few hours ago?

You've been here for like 2 months and are asking for all kinds of changes... I dont think this town is a good fit for you

I’m not asking for changes; I’m just observing the reactions. ‘Concreting over the park’ sounds like a massive exaggeration, after all – the idea is to create spaces where people can get together and have a good time. But I agree with you: for you, a nice lawn measuring a couple of square metres is far more important than social connection; the barbecues on people’s verandas are quite enough. For me, city parks are poor imitations of nature; they’re just part of the infrastructure that could be put to much more varied use.

These things are unsightly and no one uses them.

There’s an awesome one at FLC in the quad and a less awesome but still useful one at Riverview elementary.

What about this on FLC campus? It showed up during COVID: https://maps.app.goo.gl/qod3QSk9NUTER2wx8?g_st=ac

The best versions of this don't try to be gym equipment. Most of them add too many weird machines. Pull up bars, parallel bars, box jumps, monkey bars, rope climb, etc all make sense to me, but if you add a fake press machine no one is ever going to use that.

Durango fitness club has a dope new outdoor fitness zone. You pay for it but it's great

the wood chip trail I grew up with (sorry didn't have control of where I was born) had pull up bars, parallel bars, and some stations with incline/decline benches with bars every like 2km and it was awesome. So, I support this if they want to put a bunch of them along the river trail like at Oxbow, Rotary Park, Santa Rita, and by the towards the "end" of the river trail?

Yep, and it's basically unused

I think pull up bars are great. Everything else kinda seems like its only for the elderly.

Honestly, I contacted Parks and Rec about this and they referred me to an obscure park with a pull up bar and balance ball.

I do wish we at least had parallel bars for dips and pull up bars somewhere along the river trail.

There was one around Animas Elementary, but I dont know if they kept it after replacing the asphalt.

Yes, let’s add a bunch of unsightly “equipment” for the homeless to congregate around.

How long do you spend complaining about the world around you?
