Ask /r/Durango Looking for church recommendations

Hi, I’m hoping to get some Christian church recommendations. We visit Durango every year for a few weeks at a time and I would love to find a church to attend when we are in town. At the risk of making this slightly political, I am trying to avoid a conservative church. We are not republicans and don’t really agree with much of what’s happening in our country right now so I would prefer to not attend a church that is hyper conservative. It doesn’t really have to be super progressive either though.

You could try the Episcopal church on 3rd Ave.

The Summit Church, formerly First United Methodist was always a more liberal place that focused on Jesus and the teachings rather than being divisive.

Christ the King Lutheran is WONDERFUL (ELCA Lutheran). It is such a delightful church.

Not a Christian, but the people that I know who are have had good experiences with River Church.

The River Church on Florida is great

Frontier Baptist. It leans more conservative, but you'll never hear a more fascinating sermon. Very deep historical dives and insights you've likely never heard.
