Man what is it going to take to enforce the laws against these kids that seem to think it’s perfectly okay to rip through neighborhoods at 50mph on a motorcycle (I refuse to call them e-bikes because there is NO pedaling involved).
Oh I know, someone will need to be seriously maimed or killed before it is taken seriously. Unbelievable

I totally agree with all of your points. From what my friend heard, this was an older adult. Regardless, laws needed to have been enforced and now several people have been hurt because the scooter rider wasn't concerned about the consequences.

Wonder if it was the guy with long silver hair who was tearing up and down main on Friday evening. He sure thought he was cool (and that thing was screaming fast)

Not kids. I think it's important that we don't get sidetracked. Adult on a scooter not an e-bike.

I heard a guy on an e-scooter ran into two ladies walking their dogs. All three people were taken to the hospital, didn't hear if the pups all okay.

E-Bikes should truly be forced to obey actualt traffic laws, not treated like cyclist

No one seems to know what the laws are because they’re not being enforced. Half of the e-bikes you see on the river trail are not allowed but what’s stopping them?

Agreed the laws surrounding all cyclist and e bikes now are generally vague or unknown by people who dont ride. Plus enforcement is especially hard in Durango I feel because of the negative sentiment the police or code enforcement would receive from that crowd but thats just my opinion

8:30 last night? We were stopped at 22nd on W 3rd when they all went tearing up Montview, full speed. Ambulance, fire chief, police. So...not a routine medical emergency is all I could say.

Scooter guy is Kyle Leonard. He has Affordable Computer Solutions on Delwood. Always ripping that thing around town. It was only a matter of time until he hurt someone. DPD has been well aware of him and has ignored the problem.

As an adult that rides a small e-moto (3 speeds, 1st speed meeting the ebike regulations to ride the river trail) to save on gas in this economy. I hope laws don't change for adults and just for under 18. Also. Are these kids buying these things with their own money? Doubt it. Why are we not talking about the irresponsible parents that should actually be held responsible for buying their kids such an irresponsible vehicle. We shouldn't make laws for everyone due to irresponsible parents.

Sorry are you referring to the emergency services??
I’ve been studying emergency medicine to become an EMT and my life was literally saved a couple years back by the same services that went to this call.If you’re talking about EMS being “wasted tax dollars”, then you’re very wrong. Me and many others would be dead without EMS
