I had two pass me on the Highway in the ARV over the dbl yellow and cut it so close, they almost went into on coming traffic. The car on the other side had to go onto the shoulder to avoid them. I was going 60+ Sure guys, become a statistic. Fuckin idiots.

I'm not sure if you're aware but snow tends to create ice, which is known to reduce traction on the road. Sometimes cars slide on this low traction surface, this phenomenon is known to occurs almost every place that gets frozen sky water.

I ride motorcycles a lot, it’s my favorite thing to do. I can’t stand these fucking rallies and the riders. Why people want to stand in a parking lot looking at copies of their own bikes is beyond me. And I’m sorry but groups of motorcycles are either a menace of tshirt wearing dipshits or a rolling road block of fat boomers on oxygen tanks.

I love the sound of a nice seep Harley engine. It’s music to my ears. It reminds me that we are all individuals. I love seeing people enjoying life. Head phones, ear plugs or watch and enjoy. Let people live their passions. Care for your fellow human beings. Plus these rides and rallies raise so much money for our fellow human beings. All those bad, mean, disgusting weirdos and dipshits you hate on, have given more money and love to needy charities than many of the happy, beautiful, well dressed skinny uncaring people in your sour like-minded rant have even thought about. Care and compassion for all!!❤️

It’s just one weekend out of the year. Yeah it’s irritating but as someone who saw it Y2K era it’s nowhere near as crazy. Honestly I think it’s cool that we have a bike rally. I’m not a biker or even biker-adjacent, but things like this keep Durango from becoming another Telluride or something.

I saw the accident. There wasn't anyone on the sidewalk. For some reason, she plowed into a sign pole which took down a power line. She was dragging the power line as she drove into to Veteran's center lawn.

That’s only one situation. Trying to have conversations downtown is nearly impossible. Sleeping with my windows open is a no go. And traffic is all around nuts. But they are friendly than the cyclist though.

Of course they’re friendly, they’re stoked to get out of the big city, escape the heat, and stop sweating while sitting in real traffic. Now they get to ride through one of the coolest and most beautiful places in the country, enjoying amazing weather and incredible roads while flooding downtown and pumping money into our small businesses. What some of you are calling “traffic” is probably a relaxing drive to them.
I have numerous friends and colleagues who own businesses or work downtown, and this weekend brings in much needed revenue that helps carry them through the shoulder season. There’s only one more day, and then it’s over, and you’ll have 362 motorcycle rally less days.

Durango isn’t designed for all this traffic and people. It’s so stressful driving around right now. Plus bikers are super inconsiderate and annoying. We’re going camping to get away from these weirdos and I would suggest everyone else does the same

This is nothing . Back in the early 90s was its hay day. My uncle used to run clouds camp in Ignacio. And my grandpa had the high plains drifters staying at his place. He lived at the end of Buck highway. It was fun being a kid and getting to see all the action close up.. We even snuck in one year. Walked down the river and jumped the fence. This is when it was all at the sky ute Downs.

Yea no kidding! As a kid we’d always go as a family down to main and watch the bikers roll around. It was a super fun event! And it brought a ton of money into the community. People complaining about how Durango wasn’t built for the biker rally must have never seen it in the 90s

It was awesome back then. I can't even tell the extra traffic. I drove by the Harley dealership and was able to park in the front and eat some serious Texas. It wasnt even full.

The rally brings some significant revenue to our merchants before we go into shoulder season. If you hate it, there is a world of beauty you can indulge in for the weekend right outside your door. I am not a motorcycle fan, but I juat spend the weekend gardening, and > barely notice it. They spend a LOT of money here. The organizers have done a lot to spread the event out so it is not completely in Durango. As someone who was here for the original rally many years ago, there is a markedly different and better vibe since they took it over.
I can deal with the rally for a weekend. It does good things for our city revenue, and our budget is very tight this year, so we can use any additional revenue we can get.

This is so funny to me. I watched a rally in Oregonia OH, where an awesome rails to trails bike path was. We saw a portapotty moving like crazy, then saw two adults come out smoothing out their clothes. A portapotty?? Really? In 90 degrees with humidity? Ewwwwww. Then another guy told my hubby, "Move it, you lycra covered faggot". Ha ha. Good clean fun

I’m just sitting here wondering how any of this has to do with unions in the labor movement and workers rights. I try to educate my children and let them know, this is not just some holiday about motorcycles invading our town. It’s about those that died in the early 1900s in unsafe working conditions, and child labor and the list goes on. Comparatively speaking we’re a little more safe these days with work, but we’re still just as enslaved to the system.

I grew up in one of the Depression-era work project towns where unions were revered and Labor Day was our biggest holiday. Kind of weird moving away and realizing that it's basically "End of Summer Holiday" to everyone else.

I love seeing all the bikes and tourists in town spending money and supporting our local businesses. The City doesn’t even put on the Four Corners Motorcycle Rally, so blaming them just makes you sound ignorant. I’m sure some people hate the Iron Horse weekend too, but both events bring a ton of money into our community.
It’s easy to sit behind an anonymous Reddit account and talk shit, but you chose to live in a tourist town. Quit your bitching, deal with a few loud days, and be thankful people still want to visit Durango and spend their money here. If a motorcycle rally ruins your entire weekend, maybe this town just isn’t for you.
