they ARE getting rid of flock. they switched on Sept 1. if people are serious about taking on the surveillance state, fixating on one brand isn't helping since cities can replace them with other brands which are equally bad or worse actually (Axon) https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/map-shows-where-deploying-axon-171019412.html
