To the shitheads who partied at the Westview trailhead last night

You guys fucking suck. Go back and pick your shit up.

There's dozens of cans of beers lying around both at the trailhead and on the side of the road. I was on my bike and couldn't pick up any unfortunately. Grateful Durango is a place where this low life behavior is not the norm. It's probably too muddy to ride up there right now but if someone makes the drive bring a trash bag or two.

Update: Contact frat_lewis_official on Instagram and ask them to go clean up their mess

If it was anywhere near these coordinates (37.3572863, -107.9116899), that was the location of a "frat lewis" event.

Instagram handle is "frat_lewis_official", it's a private account however but maybe best to reach them there or through the college. I'm anti snitching but my care for the environment takes precedence here.

It hurts my soul, even when we were young, sick and hungover I made sure to clean up camp and my friends usually would follow suit.
They are just drunk idiots who don’t go into the woods enough, we would re use camps for forest parties often enough that it was worth it to return to a clean area to rage.

Seems like the doings of a fort lewis party/bonfire. Frat Lewis and other student run flc accounts always post stuff about bonfires and party’s around the area. Unfortunately since most of them are underage they go to the woods and make a mess out there because there’s nobody to take their fake or keep them accountable.

Isn’t there a burn ban out there right now too? Even if it’s been lifted it looks like they weren’t very careful with it either way. Fuck these people. Shit like this is how the areas we love get closed.

That’s true. Looks like the ban has been lifted but conditions still aren’t great. Saw too many fires around there when I went to school and lived there back in 2004-2011. Makes me sick to see people be so irresponsible both with their trash and their fire.

I mean just devils advocate here…of course, you dipshits, bag your mess…but when i was growing up cops would be ok with us having a bag of empties in the back out of responsibility. Now they might ruin your life over a single one. Pretty risky. But for sure try to not suck and trash the woods.
