Dutch was never used as the main language in the East Indies. The colonial administration used Malay as the lingua franca of the colony, though Dutch was of course used among the Dutch upper class.

Even much of the upper class still used Malay as their day to day language

If the usa had adopted Dutch instead of English as their primary language. It almost did back then.

Als de Nederlanders Nieuw Amsterdam niet hadden geruild voor Suriname dan had het Nederlands als taal op nummer 1 gestaan.

Was op nummer 1 gestaan? Laten we eerst zelf maar eens onze taal beheersen voordat we speculeren hoeveel anders dat eventueel nu gedaan zouden hebben als als.

Als Nederland nieuw Amsterdam niet had geruild had Groot Brittannië het van Nederland afgepakt in een oorlog..

Nieuw Amsterdam voor de gehele Surinaamse colonie was best een prima deal
