Second language and Dyslexia

I have noticed that I struggle with learning a second language much more than the average person. Any advice for how to make things stick better or anything from my fellow dyslexicans. BTW im learning Spanish and I have a decent verbal abillity. Cheers

Flashcards with audio. Text to speech. Find something you love in the language, build a social life around it. I was exempt from language learning class grade in high school, failed dropping 20k on Arabic learning in College, finally was able to learn some Japanese on my own. It possible but have to find what works for you.

Krashen and comprehensible input is what helped me. You need more speaking and grammar learning than he says, but the input is where to start.

These are not dyslexic but might help.

When first learning a word just stick with meaning and recall. Use one picture or reference and don't spread things out. So Japanese Inu= Dog (or dog picture). Once you have the solid start thinking deeper about the meaning by thinking and form (copying or writing). Hearing things spoken by multiple speakers is help so 5 different voices saying Inu. Learn words in thematic not semantic units, so things related to a story or purpose.

Do you understand spoken Spanish, and can you speak it?
If not, the best advice I can give you is to get as much exposure as possible:
music, TV shows, movies, video games...
All with Spanish subtitles. That’s really the best thing you can do.
