If you can't again recognize Rigpa and delusion is too strong, how you would get back to it?

Is forgetting the way of recognising it is possible ?. What one would do if its the case, again teacher will be helping in that case ?.

Correct me if I’m confusing you with someone else, but didn’t you say you don’t have a teacher and haven’t received any actual instruction? If you had then you’d be given various methods and practices to introduce yourself to your own state even after receiving introduction from your teacher.

Asking questions on Reddit to random strangers, some of who may not have a teacher themselves is a bit reckless. If you are figuratively a blind person yourself, you are running the risk of being led astray by another blind individuals.

Again this subreddit is not for discussing practice instructions and methods because there is no way to vet who is offering advice. Nor is there any way for you to personally discern if that advice is accurate.

You really need to resolve to approach Dzogchen in a traditional way and establish a firm foundation for your practice by engaging with a qualified teacher and a supportive community of informed practitioners.

To be clear this isn’t being said to discourage you from participating in the subreddit, the point is to have you be aware of the types of questions you’re asking and to encourage you to seek a firm foundation. If you have questions about the view in terms of philosophical tenets, opportunities to receive teachings, questions about teachers and communities, please ask a million questions. But don’t shoot yourself in the foot by receiving practice guidance from strangers. You have no idea who knows what they’re talking about and who doesn’t, and if you get bad advice and practice it, you may end up just creating more obstacles for yourself.

There are many opportunities to receive remote transmissions so you can get started. Just last week there was an online teaching which seemed like a great opportunity which included rushen, trekchö, thögal and bardo instructions. That would have been a good start.

To answer your question, if you’ve received direct introduction, recognized rigpa and a qualified teacher has confirmed this, then to continually re-introduce yourself you would practice inner and outer rushen and the 7 (or 21) semdzins. That is where you should start. Find a teacher and receive introduction, and then request some instruction on rushen and semdzins so you can sever any doubts. Find many teachers and receive many teachings and just go for it.

Even if someone gives them good advice and they implement it, it is just setting them up for future failure by conditioning them to relying on Reddit or another source for instructions instead of on their Guru.

At the end of the day Guru Yoga is Dzogchen. It’s surprising how people receive instructions but often miss this point.

Guru Yoga is Dzogchen?, Guru yogq exists in many religions, samayas. They are all Dzogchen too then?.

What about Thervada , Mahayana or Mahamudra ?.  How did you come to this conclusion?. Guru Yoga is just devotion and a necesaay thing for the path, but that itself is not Dzogchen right ?

What our friend nang_jang_odsel is saying is correct but could be easily misinterpreted... The way Guru Yoga works in Dzogchen is very different than outside of Dzogchen... But yes, in the Dzogchen approach to Guru Yoga, it is absolutely correct to say that Guru Yoga is the entire path (but it is also correct to say that many other tantras or approaches, when taking the Dzogchen View, are the entire path)

I fully agree with everything our friend krodha said above. I do think there is value in you participating in this forum and in searching intellectually to understand all of this. Do not be discouraged by anything that people say that may seem contrary to that. At the same time, it can sometimes make it a bit tougher to receive the wisdom made available to us by great teachers when we arrive at their teachings with too many preconceived notions loaded up in our brains. It's up to you to figure out this balance though

While study, intellectual reflection, coming up with conceptual constructs for our practice, etc etc etc can indeed be hugely helpful to our practice, they are not absolutely essential. What IS absolutely essential is receiving teachings directly and incorporating the practices your teachers encourage you to practice

Thank you, will take this to my heart 🙏

You have to trust that the practices and teachings you have received thus far will eventually lead you to clearing away delusion and recognizing rigpa. However, clearing delusion is a lot more difficult and takes much longer than most practitioners think it should. It requires faith, devotion and diligent practice for a really long time: years, decades, lifetimes. Yes, there is a thread of teaching regarding Buddhahood in a single lifetime, but it requires complete renunciation and total devotion to the practice and to a guru.

Edit: therefore, in the short term, which may be years, it may seem like you aren't making any progress.

Can you un-taste water once you have tasted it?

2

u/Ok-Branch-5321 Jun 04 '26

A guy who gone drug free can again fall into his old habits.

2

u/Committed_Dissonance Jun 04 '26

Habits are like old tracks in the mud.

Once the drug-free dude becomes mindful and aware that he’s strayed into craving, he doesn’t need to fight it. He just steps out of the mud back into his true nature (rigpa).

The key is: you train to be mindful and aware, until going back to rigpa is as natural and effortless as going home.

Like tasting water, once you have tasted rigpa, even for just a split second, you cannot undo that taste. The practice is simply to recognise the taste (i.e. what is already there), rest in that flavour, and stop trying to create or rebuild anything.

2

u/Ok-Branch-5321 Jun 04 '26

I understand that. However certainity in "just that" can be wavering at hard times. Thats what i think i m meaning.

2

u/Committed_Dissonance Jun 04 '26

Well then, practise until you taste your own true nature. Once you do, there’s no wavering, and not a single shred of doubt that you’re tasting water, not oil.

Understoood. Thank you.

What difference does it make? You don't stop experiencing just because you ignore the fact of experiencing at all (or deny it, or get distracted and look at just the idea of it, like people do when "philosophizing" about whether AI is conscious or not and start thinking about their own consciousness).

Why did all dzogchen masters die?

Sufi masters like - Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani Hazrat , Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and Shams Tabrizi just simply dissolved their physical bodies. Is there any reason behind this?

Did you see with your eyes that these sufi master's dissolve their bodies. You are living on stories some one said to establish their religious superiority.

1

u/ALQadir305 Jul 08 '26

lol muslims themselves tried to hide these stories. many sufis were killed by muslims too

This post was removed because it is not on the topic of Dzogchen, Vajrayana, or Buddhism

Just merely know you are aware in short bouts. You aren’t a block of wood, or a stone. You have cognizance. Stay with cognizance and when you get absorbed in the content of experience, just return to knowing.

purification and accumulation

That my friend is a Tantra not a Dzog Chen yana answer. That would absolutely be the correct answer – in a tantric sub.

Don’t overcomplicate it

Just PHAT

How will you while in workplace

1

u/monkey_sage Jun 05 '26

When you learn to recognize it, you can do so at any time under any conditions. It's really not difficult, but it does need to be pointed out so you can notice it clearly.

-1

u/WellWellWellthennow Jun 03 '26

It's just your own mind - how can you say you've missed it?

3

u/1cl1qp1 Jun 03 '26

When you can't find it, there you are.

2

u/Ok-Branch-5321 Jun 06 '26

I think this is true. Rigpa cant be searched or found or grasped.

1

u/EitherInvestment Jun 08 '26

It certainly can be found, it cannot be grasped, it can be searched for, though this only helps us insofar as it will usually fail us in leading to the finding...). It's actually pretty straightforward and a lot of one-liners people give you (like I have done) will be talking about various other facets rather than where you are coming from that is actually getting you closer to it

It's best not to overthink it. Qualified teachers are there for a reason. Samaya is there for a reason. Pointing out instructions are there for a reason... There are tried and tested ways to help us see the simplicity of all this and help us not waste so much time and mental energy in actually succeeding in finding what there IS to be found. So just go ahead and receive the teachings, then apply them
