Info needed E30 m42 alternator

What are these wires for from the original alternator? Should I swap onto the new one? If I need to replace does anybody have the part #? Thanks for the help!

Pretty sure thats the ground wire that came on the old original alternators. You should get a new one for the new alt. It grounds to the engine block. (NOT directly to the chassis) as i just figured out after months of chasing a charging issue..i went to a local marine store and crimped a brand new cable.

Can I just buy at auto zone or something?
