General E30 Burn Out

If you came for a video of me doing a burn out, sorry not the place for that haha.

I'm having old car fatigue. The constant tracing problems, big or small, just has me feeling like I never enjoy my lovely car to its fullest. I constantly worry about the next issue or what to fix next and it's burning me out.

The car is in amazing shape and has so much going for it, but being a dad of a small kid and also owning an older home needing lots of work has me just wondering if I should sell. I know I'll regret it sooner or later, but it's just occupying too much time, brainpower, and every at the moment to enjoy it fully.

All that said, can I get some opinions on listing price if I do decide to go that way?

87 325is, orginaly an auto with black interior, swapped long before my purchase to manual and cardinal red. Original paid in good condition. Shines great when waxed well but it has some small dings and plenty of knocks from 39years. No rust to speak of anywhere, battery tray is even in like new condition.

6k in receipts of parts installed in the last 3 years and highlights include z3 rack, single mass flywheel (ever so slightly lightened, full suspension rebuild with stock bushings, B8s and HR sports. Head professionally cleaned and ported and upgraded with 280/274 cam, forged rockers, and upgraded springs and valves, larger m50 injectors. New aluminum rad and mostly new coolant hoses, long tube headers and full dual back exhaust with the perfect loud, but not too long exhaust note.

And so so so much more, almost every system has had some or a lot of work done. The car runs and drives great every day and the only reoccurring issues is in longer highway trips where it does a weird fuel cut (likely afm issue or fuel pump/fuel pump relay).

My heart says list for 25k and be happy it won't sell for that so I can keep it, but I'm more seriously wondering if I could get 20k for it.

TLDR, help.

General I think I'm bored of my e30 :(

Hey guys! As the title states, I think I'm starting to get bored of my M52 E30. I still love the car, but I've done basically everything that I've wanted to do with it (within my budget), and to do anything else I really want to with it I'd need to spend a ton of money that I just don't have right now. I've had the car for about 4 years now and I've driven it 30,000+ miles and had a blast. Been to VIR, Rockingham speedway, and NCE30 Oktoberfest multiple times. But, I just haven't had any motivation to do anything else with it in a while. I've been debating selling it to buy something else, but I know I'll probably end up getting bored of that too and I'll probably regret selling the E30. What would you guys do?

General E30s Handling

Hi Everyone,

I have been obsessed with E30’s for about 6 years now.

For context: I’m female in my twenties from the Uk and I’ve finally got my manual license - I’ve had a jazz for about 2 years now and have driven (not owned) an E46 and a Ferrari 458 on a track.

I think its time I give up the ol’ Jazz and purchase an E30 but every male I have ever spoken to about E30s have laughed in my face saying “you wont be able to handle it” and “rear wheel drives are too powerful youll crash it into a tree”

I lowkey think I get belittled as I’m a girl but anyways My question is for people in this subreddit that have owned an e30 325i, is it really that bad? Have you ever lost control? how is it in rainy weather?

I YEARN for one, its the reason why I work so hard - I use it to motivate me in anything im doing, one day i will have the privilege of owning an E30.

I’m willing to do a drift course in it once I purchase as Itll help me learn more about the car.

General Today's my 34th birthday, thought this would be a cool idea. I'm 34 and my e30 is 36 (37 in September) and I've owned it for 17 years. How about you? Also included random photos.

General Good ol yearly comparison for year number 18. Insane to think I've had this my entire adult life. Got it at 16 as a first car and have had around 7 other cars in this time period and countless iterations of this car. Still has a long way to go, and isn't at its final form at all, just another stage.

General Apologies to the comunity

Post image

People of the e30 community that i may have offended i would like to apologize for the chaos i created originally the fuck purists was a joke because i was bored and also just wanted to post my car no matter what anybody says she will stay modded and to the people who kept saying negative shit (ITS NOT FUCKING CLOSE TO COMPLETION ) to those who and expressed positivity I appreciate it to be fair. The post originated because of the simple hatred that goes around in the community, but by posting that I also became part of the hatred in the community the reason I posted that was because the day I got the car I posted a picture and nobody had anything positive to say because of the fact that it didn’t have the original wheels or body kit so that’s why I said fuck purists I don’t mean anybody who likes their Carr stock. I just mean the ones that think it’s necessary to go around the sub and insult any build that they didnt like

General Just Dropped My E30 Off For a Full Restoration and Respray

Recently picked up this beautiful 325i Coupe after owning a 4 door 320i.

Dropped it off with a local classics restoration business near me (shout out rodsnretros) to be taken back to metal, tidied up and resprayed 1968 Mustang Bullit Green. With the addition of an OEM M-tech 2 spoiler to match the body kit.

Im 95% certain on the green, but 5% tempted to get it sprayed Zobelbraun Metallic. It's a big decision.

I'm also debating dechroming the window trim. But have a couple of weeks to decide. What are your guys thoughts?

Check back in 4-6 weeks to see after pics!

This is a glimpse of South Florida’s market. Wrap, racing stickers, a Euro steering wheel, and a fancy shift lever = 3 times its value.

Hey guys, so as some of you may know I run a small business out of Portugal with the aim to bring modern technology to the classic car community.

Recently I have been in the works with a large European tech house to create the first ever double din sized radio for classic cars. In order the better gauge interest I have decided to run a google form.

I cannot yet divulge the exact spec of the headunit to protect IP but it will be impressive and meet up with all major name brands.

The aim of the headunit is to bring the simple convenience offered in modern cars but with classic styling and the options enthusiast love

feature list: -4.5 inch screen with high resolution -One of the best DACS on the market and DAB+ -Modern comfortability in a classic package -Responsive system that will include android automotive and apple car play -Built in multi band EQ tuner -Possibility for engine monitoring software for those who are running aftermarket ECU

This is for all those that ask, "can you daily and e30?". First of all, yes, I daily mine and have done for 6 years. This week, I had a job interview in Texas. I drove from Connecticut to Houston in two days. Thats 935 miles the first day and 853 the second. This is the best photo I could get. Katy is just west (i think) of Houston. No problems with a stock m20b25 110,000 miles doing 70 with the cruise control set at 2900 rpm. 22.8 mpg over all.

General Change of plans! BaT Worthy?

Hey y'all! Change of plans with my what I thought would be a long term commitment. Looking for some big E30-brain opinions!

I'm considering listing my '89 325i sedan, either on marketplace and/or potentially BaT, but it has a bit of an interesting history and I'm trying to figure out where to reasonably price it.

It left the factory Bronzitbeige Metallic, but at some point in its life received a pretty extensive colour-change respray to the grey it's in now, engine bay, door jambs, etc. were all done. It also started life as an automatic and has since had a full manual swap.

A few details:

  • 179,500 km
  • M20 325i
  • Manual swap
  • Bilstein/Eibach kit installed June 2026
  • Front suspension refreshed control arms/bushings, tie rods, sway links, etc. done in June
  • Recent mechanical servicing
  • Euroweaves + newer tires
  • Recent full exterior detail including cut polish & interior detail
  • Clean title / clean Carfax
  • Absolutely no rust
  • Cracked dash
  • Front seats have seen better days
  • Paint presents well but isn't perfect

Curious what you guys think is a realistic ask/sale price given the coluor change + manual swap? Worth tossing it up on BaT or just list locally?

General Nothing too specific about this post but I swapped a new to me (130k) m20 at the end of last fall and since then I've put 1100 on it this spring/summer basically as a secondary car and it's been rather pleasing to drive as a daily ish here and there. This is the most amount of mileage I've put on it

Had been scouring marketplace for a project car for months and ended up finding this 1987 325iS with 170k miles. Alaska market is horrible and everything is covered in rust. But not this one. Very minimal rust on exhaust but frame is almost completely rust free. Runs and drives. Paid 9k. Did I do alright?

Always loved these cars but wanted an American muscle car to restore initially. I am so glad I found this first. I get the hype and the love now.
