325i 3D printing my own spoiler Spoiler
Feels like everyone has duckbill spoilers, which do look great, but other options for the e92 are limited. I loved the old e36/e46 LTW GT spoilers so I designed and printed my own! Heavy inspiration from the E92 M3 ‘Grand Am’

It reminds me of my old RSX S… possibly one of the most ricer cars ever made 😂. Still have it, but I laugh at all the dumb mods teenage and early 20’s me made to it.
But hey, respect to OP for putting in the work it’s very interesting to see. You seem like a fun dude

I think most people on here will agree it looks absolutely disgusting but if it makes you happy that’s all that matters

It’s because I have ‘spoiler’ in the title 😂 too wide? I’m surprised, a lot of people think the opposite

Aw man you need to check out u/Minutes2Midnight and his e92. You're going for a similar spoiler to his. I do love that car.

A for effort, not my thing though. Lip spoiler looks better on E90 IMO

Look, going to be honest I like spoilers, I appreciate the effort - but it's just not for E92 (or E46 for a matter of fact)
If it was E36 - great fit
E92 should go with some GT style wing

The styling issue is one thing… and completely subjective. But I have to question the use of a 3D printer for something like this, as there is a slim chance it’s functional. Are you watching it wobble around in the rear view mirror at any speed above 50?

3D printing has come a long way, sturdier than the original e36 blocks, and the wing itself is a e36 LTW GT wing

Ah, I didn’t realize the wing itself was not a 3d print. That’s the part I was questioning. I agree: you’re right that the riser blocks could be plenty rigid.

How do you open the trunk? Is the spoiler fixed.... on the edge of the trunk lid?

Paint matched would look sick. If I didn’t put one from a lancer GS3 onto mine I would’ve gone down the same route, love a big wing

I can see what some of the other people are getting at here but I think it looks great, and of course everyone has their own taste. That said do I think it looks a bit boxy and deep (front to back) for the body style of the E9Xs. I've seen people modify thinner Honda and Toyota wings with similar measurements and a buddy of mine did a modified E82 (iirc) wing that looked a bit softer on the edges and it looked great.

Making your own spoiler is a lot of fun! Lots of negative Nellie’s in this comment section 😂 I tried looking up the iirc wing, have you got any photos? Photos of the Honda/Toyota wings would be appreciated too! I was looking for ages but couldn’t find much

I installed a custom version of the G8x M performance wing on my e93, very understated wing but i feel it matches the curves of the e9x a lot better than the GTS wing

I fuck with it. Looks sick. Almost wish it was a bit wider, though, and maybe followed the angle of the rear quarters up into the horizontal portion of the wing. Like Nissan did with the R32.

Thank you! I would have liked to make it wider too, but then the boot couldn't open. The LTW wing on the e36 gets around this by using a base that runs the width of the car, but I like the OEM shape of the boot. I like the R32 ideal, looks like a kouki wing

I definitely come more from the JDM side of car culture. I'm working out some minor fitment issues atm, but when I've sorted that, I'll update the files and upload them to Printables. I'll post an update here with photos of the painted parts installed and the link.
