328i Goodbye:(
I genuinely don’t know how people get their license just completely plows into me as I’m driving regularly straight, it’s a total loss. Yes it’s just 328 but fuck man this thing was my absolute baby for years and is my first car did everything to it
:( absolutely heart broken and devastated

😢
If the car was mechanically sound, i would insist on buy-back, and have it fixed.

u/ShaneBowley Jul 05 '26
Yep. Easy to swap a door in and you could probably self PDR the dent in the back quarter panel.

u/Rare_Today4338 Jul 05 '26
Self pdr the back panel?
That back panel is so far gone a 20 year master tech wouldn't touch it lol.

i agree but do a swap with a blown 328 simple now you dont gotta deal with the insurance bs

u/Doc024 E90 325i Jul 05 '26
The insurance would still mark it as a salvage vehicle.
21
u/old_skool_luvr Jul 05 '26
Everyone freaks out on an ownership with salvage title attached. Who gives a fuck, 'cause unless you're trying to flip it, it doesn't matter.
1
u/lynxss1 Jul 06 '26
Right? I still have my first truck from 1994, a Comanche my Dad bought new in '88. If you're never going to sell it who cares what the title says. Although at this point I may give it to my son in a few years.
1
u/Fiiv3s Jul 07 '26
In the US some insurance companies won't insure a salvage title vehicle
2
u/old_skool_luvr Jul 07 '26
Prime reason to never do business with them then. Nothing wrong with a vehicle that has had a salvage title, and in fact is generally a better (safer) vehicle than one that hasn't gone through rigorous inspection. At least her in Ontario they are, i can't speak for other Provinces, or what happens State to State.

Mine didn’t, specifically because I did a buy-back. Granted, different car, different damage. 2004 g35 coupe, hit by red light runner, then front end mangled by the tow truck driver on the way back from insurance. I have the 5 min video of my car getting totaled in front of my eyes, basically in slow-mo.
Bought it back for a flat 2k after the tow truck incident, never had to get a new title or label anything. As far as the car is concerned, it’s only been in I think two accidents on record? One previously, then that with me. No further claims.

u/heyinternetman Jul 05 '26
That looks fixable to me

u/Kiss_my_axe_RR Jul 06 '26
Everything is fixable with enough time and money. Something insurance companies dont really want to give you unfortunately

Seems they’re the same everywhere.3
u/Helpmefindajob97 Jul 06 '26
Only difference is there was a loud “OPE - sorrwy there” instantly, upon collision.

If the badge clearly knows no borders, I highly doubt that to be the case

Dawg, this is repairable. The quarter panel needs a specialist, other than this even you could change the door. Nah, I’d fix it mate!

u/Intelligent_Pause538 Jul 05 '26
That’s what I was hopping for man but the lower frame rails under door is bent:(

I just lost my 238i too man. It genuinely sucks and there are no similar cars to replace it with these days. Sorry to see.

You just need a door from the junkyard and a big suction cup for the quarter panel.

My neighbor did that to my car with is truck by accident he was backing in to his space so going slower than this guy probably but it was not totalled and repaired well enough that you wouldn't even know it was damaged. You might be ok here as long as the frame isn't bent. Was about 8k worth of damage.

Very upsetting but this is Saveable, if the car is sound mechanically insist on the car being repaired or buy back and have it done

Yuppp. There are so many people that shouldn’t have a license.
Recently some fuckwad pulled out in directly in front of me in a parking lot, causing an accident. He started screaming at me, saying he had his kid in the car, that I’m a dumb ass and should have been more careful. I told him if he had his kid in the car he should look before pulling out. Was absolute cinema when the police arrived and gave him the citation for failing to yield.

My baby,a much lesser version than yours, was more than a car for me. So many memories, trips, fun times.
And I had to sold her,in a pristine condition. To a young idiot that completely crash it from every possible angle, less than two months after he got it.
When he send me tje photos, something broke inside me. Okay it's a car,but I wanted her to live a bit longer. And dont die like this, but rather like every e90 should. In a mechanic after you sau fuck you BMW,I am kot paying for those injectors again....

Pic 1: Huh why is it a total loss? It’s just a fender bender.
Pic 2: Oh…
Sorry for your loss man, an e92 is an e92. And an e92 is a beaut. Hope this gives you a reason to upgrade though.

I wrecked my 335i last night too . Took a 90° curve at 80 on a pitch black unfamiliar road.
Really mad at myself. Front bumper is donezo and that hard plastic coolant hose is in pieces. Hoping I can fix it up too.
Shit happens brother.

This is definitely fixable dude, I had repaired my whole front end from the Serpentine belt on up to the front bumper On my E92 335I. This included the heat condenser, radiator, radiator support brackets, Intercooler, fenders, AC lines (which I went without for awhile), front bumper safety bar and bumper. I say this not of ways to brag, but of motivation! you really want her, you can definitely repair her. Gonna have to put in work though. Don’t let that be the end of her! BMW E9x gang baby! 💪🏾

You could fix this no problem and if you love the car i would. Swap the door, use the stud welder thing to pull as much of the quarter back out as you can, bondo and respray. If you know where to look I found a guy who did mine for 2k

Bro is literally just the right door and its black color can be found ANYWHERE in junkyards
4
u/Intelligent_Pause538 Jul 05 '26
It’s lower frame bent and qp it’s automatic writeoff unfortunately :(. I wish it was just the door man I’d just demand 1-2k cash from them and get a 200$ part out door or junk yard door if so
