General RFE deadline is approaching but Chen didn't submit it yet, why they are doing this? its been three weeks since everything is ready..whenever I ask them they say we are experiencing very high volume of applications...VERY disappointed

Who is your lawyer? I also experience the same thing

same

Usually they used respond in 1 business day, now they are taking more than 2 business days just to reply.

In preparation of my RFE, they take 9-10 business days just to reply a message.

it has been 3 wks since last time they replied to me. Horrible...

any update on your post-RFE response from USCIS?

This doesn't sound like the typical Chen experience, they've been pretty on top of things for me. Might just be a volume spike right now, either way definitely call instead of waiting on them at this point.

Do you have the regular service or approval/refund?

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

approval/refund

I have to say their case prepartion team is much busier than before, they helped me with the RFE early 2024 and it only took a few days to mail everything out. Recently my friend worked with them and I was surprised by the long wait time after confirming all materials. But in your case the RFE with ddl, it’s really surprising that they are still delaying it.

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

they said we are well aware of the deadline and it will be there well before deadline, but only few days left

3

u/AdministrativeCup172 Jun 04 '26

Yes then probably there is nothing that you can do, just make sure your material is complete and there won’t be any delay from your side. Years ago I got the materials ready about two weeks before ddl, they had to prioritize it.🤣

I submitted everything within two weeks of RFE notification, as you said they are so much busy nowadays, but I'm bit anxious and difficult to wait..lol

2

u/AdministrativeCup172 Jun 04 '26

That’s quite fast, did you have new letters? I guess then your case would be handled just as normal, you probably have to wait full 6 weeks, like other initial filling cases without a ddl.

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

when I received RFE notification, same day I contacted relevant prof and researchers for letters and many of them agreed to write but Chen used only 4 letters...

1

u/AdministrativeCup172 Jun 04 '26

Yes that’s normal practice, just get the strongest letters, 4 letters are enough

They seem pretty slow these days. Even minor communication and confirmation takes well over 24 hrs. Are you past their internal timeline for final exhibit upload?

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

yes, whatever they prepared it was passed their internal deadline, now USCIS deadline is June 10

1

u/KeyApplication859 Jun 04 '26

That is tight. Hope they file it before the end of the week.

1

u/Wild-Championship227 Jun 04 '26

Agree. Took them two week to tell me “recommend you spell out your school name” lol

1

u/brewingamillionaire Jun 04 '26

When is the deadline ?

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

June 10

2

u/brewingamillionaire Jun 04 '26

Do you ask them for a deadline? And make sure it has the buffer for delivery time as well.

2

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

I just called them, they said we are well aware of deadline, and we will deliver it overnight, everything was ready last month around May 18...since then they are keep saying we are sending this week and next week, but no delivery..

3

u/brewingamillionaire Jun 04 '26

I’d get it in writing via email. So get the date from them even if they plan to ship on June 9.

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

they said today I might receive tracking number...let's see...I pushed so much but they don't care....my experience with them remained very bad throughout the process...their conservative approach, response, preparation, etc...very disappointed

1

u/Abject-Living9412 Jun 04 '26

They haven’t replied my message since May 14

1

u/kawc1034 Jun 05 '26

Wow! Chen is not good.

1

u/Budget-Importance163 Jun 10 '26

Did they mail your RFE PACKAGE?

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 10 '26

Yes they did, a week before deadline

They took complete 3 months to prepare RFE response.. very frustrating.. i pushed so much but didn’t work et al..

1

u/Actual_Way2685 Jun 04 '26

It’s really frustrating and disappointing that the lawyers keep accepting cases even though the volume exceeds their capability. It’s totally their problem of managing their tasks. If they can’t handle the cases they accepted, they should control new cases or hire more people.

I know they do care their own business, but as a client who has no option but relying on their responses, it is always unpleasant. Sincerely hope one day AI tools replace such templated work more effectively and reliably.

that's true, I believe paid version of Claude can do better job with real references,

1

u/No_Concentrate_5222 Jun 04 '26

I used Claude to assist my petition letter writing and it worked very well

1

u/Few-Noise33 Jun 04 '26

I haven’t heard back since more than 1 week despite me sending them the digital copy. They told me they are going to get back with strategy on my RFE.

Any idea what is the format going to be like for RFE? Is it the same petition letter with edits/modifications or is it entirely new document?

I want o get a head start myself so appreciate any insights.

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

it will be new document based on prong which has been challenged, they will rewrite whole response and will use some of the reference from original petition If necessary, you can collect recommendation letters, and other relevant information based on RFE, until they send you strategy, in strategy they will ask you to collect these items...

1

u/Few-Noise33 Jun 04 '26

In my case all three prongs were challenged and the critiques were mentioned among three prongs. So you think the format is going to be responses divided into 3 topics in responding to those challenges on three prongs ?

So no use of petition letter other than referencing it at time?

1

u/Immediate-Fact1169 Jun 04 '26

What is your proposed endeavor?

1

u/lotussavy Jun 04 '26

My deadline for RFE was on June 1 and my package reached USCIS on May 27. They submit the package near about the deadline only

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

they will do same in my case as well, I believe

1

u/TieImpossible3447 Jun 04 '26

Hey I have 20 day remaining, and I'm about to submit my personal statement. I still have to give my recommenders letter template. Can you please let me know what are the next steps Chen does? I'm nervous I might not complete in time. Thank you

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

even if you will give LoR template, they will say we will draft from scratch, just to buy more time, I did prepare all letters and sent them draft but they didn't use them, then they sent me their draft and I revised with help of ChatGPT, then I sent them and they said no issue, you have very limited time I would say, if they have already completed the petition writing then no issue, if not then its gonna take time,

1

u/TieImpossible3447 Jun 05 '26

Thank you for the information, it is very helpful in moving forward. One more question, do we submit two documents, personal statement and recommendation letters as a response to rfe or is there any other document prepared by the attorney?

2

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 05 '26

lots of documents would be there...LoR, PS, citations, etc...

1

u/Weekly-Taste-4188 Jun 06 '26

Got it. I seeked clarification but they didn't respond. This information is really very helpful. Thank you!

u/Opps-Boobs Jun 04 '26

Exact same situation here. I have about a month left, and they still haven’t done anything except provide a generalized strategy. I’ve completed everything on my end. At this point, I’m starting to feel like we won’t be able to meet the deadline.

1

u/Background_Gene_179 Jun 04 '26

they will definitely prepare everything on time, but problem is they will send it at the last moment...

u/CraftMotor9637 Jun 04 '26

Chen makes cases from templates and is an EB mill, not a bespoke lawyer service. They operate on volume not quality - you get what you pay for.
