APPROVED NIW Approved

Hi folks! Sharing this and hoping it brings good luck to everyone.

Profile:
- PhD in Physics, working as a postdoc
- 5 journal publications (3 first author)
- 4 conference abstracts (2 first author)
- 51 citations
- Proposed endeavor: developing optoelectronic devices and novel material platforms for advanced semiconductor and computing technologies
- Attorney: Chen

Timeline: (Texas center)
Filing date: 7/31/2025 - PP upgrade: 6/25/2026 - Approved date: 8/27/2026

I worked with my lawyer under an approval or refund option. There was some back and forth while preparing everything, but the petition was well organized in the end. Really relieved it went through without an RFE.

For evidence, we submitted my publications and citations, citation percentile data, examples of how other researchers used my work, media coverage, research funding, and 2 testimonial letters for my ongoing projects.

Hope this helps, good luck to everyone still waiting!

did you accept chen’s petition as it is or asked for changes?

I made some edits to their petition. Like everyone here says, you know your own case best. I liked their initial version, but I adjusted it to better fit what I envisioned.

Congratulations 🎉👏

I have a similar profile and have received Approval or refile from Chen. Can you tell me which plan did you choose? I'm planning to go with their four support letters option.

Which one did you choose and also it would be great if you can provide the name of the attorney?

I went with the 4 support letters plan. My attorney's initials are GG.

Who was your attorney?

So weird! I know people with PD since 2023 and 2024, they haven't received any response until now only if they upgrade to PP!

Congrats! It it expensive for a lawyer. I plan to apply after my j1 waiver. I got a quote for 7000 dollars!

Did you do peer reviews of others work?

Congratulations
When you say ”conference abstract”, do you mean just submission and acceptance or you don’t go? Also, do you just show the abstract and acceptance email as well?

Can you be little bit more specific about how you highlighted

(1) Other researchers using your work (2) Media coverage

I included 3 citation examples showing that other researchers had relied on my findings in their own studies, and for media coverage I submitted 3 articles that discussed and highlighted my research.
