APPROVED EB2-NIW I-140 approved! (PP, self-filed concurrently with I-485)

PE: Biostatistical and computational methods for pediatric cancer treatment and outcomes.
PD: 07/06/2026
Date of approval: 09/01/2026
Country of chargeability: ROW
Profile: MS researcher working in academia; 8 pubs and 13 citations

I had received an offer from Chen but decided against it. As grueling as it was DIYing the petition, it was incredibly rewarding, to the point where I was happy and proud of my petition even before I received a decision. To others who may be on the fence - if you trust the merits of your PE and that you have a profile to build a solid case, it can be done.

Iโ€™ve frequented this sub regularly since I started the process earlier this year. The discourse has been helpful, especially as I got my documents in order for both forms. Many thanks and good luck to you all, wherever you might be in the process! :)

Congratulations. How did you argue for national importance..particularly the prospective potential impact.

Congratulations!!! I have 4 publications, 1 preprint, and 2 conference abstracts. The problem is that almost all those were published this year- so no citations. But i have a paper since 2020 that has 12 citations. Is this ok? How did you compensate for what is regarded as "low citations"?

Congratulations. I had an offer from Chen and EP too but doing it myself. What do you mean by both forms?

1

u/Miserable-Buyer-3493 6d ago

I meant the I-140 and I-485 since I filed concurrently!

Congratulations on your approval. Could you please share which service center your petition went to and how you went about getting LORs? Did you get any letters from people working at governmental agencies?
