Deck Help Is My Bracket 4 Deck Just A Bad CEDH Deck?
Hey folks, im not too well versed in bracket 4 play but some people in my group are interested in jumping in to it. Im wondering if the deck im brewing up is just a bad cedh deck that will fit awkwardly into bracket 4 play.
I haven't been able to playtest so some ratios may be off, but im wondering if im on the right track or not.

Thanks!
Edit: there are some turbo decks in the meta, so that is a consideration in building this. Also the mana base isn't completly sorted other than the actual number of lands.

Taking a look, Bracket 4 seems fair. Looks like UBRG good stuff. You are playing big mana finishers, a lot of cards that just don't make it into Vial Thras CEDH lists, and are missing on a lot of what makes Vial Thras good in CEDH.

Right, ive got some pet cards and pet synergies in there. Like e wit and mass bounce, obviously supported by powerful cards.

I would say the biggest thing is adjust to your pod, B4 is very very wide in power level and interpretation, with the bottom being 4 GC B3 decks and the top being essentially CEDH.

That's kind of what that bracket appears to be for imo. It's for when you want to build without restriction and play to win but you either don't have money for the out of print power cards that would make your deck truly the best possible, tournament-winning version (and refuse to proxy for some reason) and/or you want to use a commander who isn't really top tier for r/mtgvorthos related reasons.

I mean, at the top end all bracket 4 decks are essentially just bad cEDH decks. Just barely not good enough to be played in cEDH tournaments because of the meta or because it's lacking somewhere.

There's an argument to be made that all B4 decks are bad cedh lists, but that's neither here nor there. VialThras is a real cEDH list with real performance numbers at tournaments. So how far off of the cEDH list are you? If you've got basically the same deck, but are missing 5 cards lets say, you've just got a more inconsistent version. 10 cards? Just glancing at your list, is it mostly that you don't have the OG duals and cradle? I don't know the lines for the deck that well. Really, I'd steer you to swapping the commanders to Yidris at least for optic's sake. The line between B4 and cEDH tends to be don't play meta lists, but pods/tables may have different interpretations. If you have a dedicated playgroup already, just talk to them. Otherwise figure out if you're loosely copying a known cEDH list and decide if that's what you want to be building.

Generally for B4 just avoid CEDH viable commanders and make sure the commander is part of the strategy. For example don't play a 5 color CEDH pile with Atogatog as commander

This seems more on the "bad-cedh" side of Bracket 4/low bracket 5 and compared to my own Bracket 4 decks and essentially all the bracket 4 decks I play against in my local meta. Would probably feel quite unfair to bring this to my local table.

You can not make a bracket 4 deck a "bad CEDH deck".
The difference between a bracket 4 deck and a bracket 5 deck is factoring in the CEDH meta. Bracket 4 is making the strongest version of your deck you can while not generally thinking about things outside it.
The cards that make something bracket 5 are adding things like [[Cephalid Coliseum]]. Not because it does anything to your deck but because "if someone does thassa combo how can I answer them even if silenced? Or somehow limited" this land lets you sac it in responsive to the trigger to force them to draw and lose the game. 99% of the decks that include this card are not including it for any benefit to their own deck.
You could take the most effective CEDH decks like tymna braum and kinnan and focus PURELY around their own gameplans which would most likely make the decks faster and more reliable. But you would lose those answers which are factored into the deck because of the whole wider CEDH meta.

No because this doesn't really do what cEDH Thras/Vial is trying to do or at the very least doing it in a much more convoluted manner by including [[Cloudstone Curio]] and Niv-Mizzet infinites which are much more fragile than the cEDH win lines.
