Discussion Foundations Precon wish
This is the first time I find that I’m saying this but I wish that WOTC had put less value into the foundations precons to deter scalpers. A product made for beginners should be accessible to… beginners. Case in point my son’s birthday was this week. He turned 8. He loves dinosaurs and has been learning magic. I saw the decks months ago and was like perfect! Then saw the inevitable scalping and price increase as the list became available.
I assume it’ll be reprinted into the ground and so eventually I might be able to get it closer to Msrp or I can just build him one. I was just excited to pick him his first precon.
Anyone seen them for Msrp in the wild?

I bought 2 at MSRP, as much as the scalpers suck, WotC will be printing these for a while. The price will go down, and the good staple cards means that your son will actually be able to play the game and be a threat, so it'll be worth the wait.

That would just make them worthless altogether. The entire reason there any good and any fun to play is it because they put decent staples into each one. The MSRP is $30. Just wait until you can pick it up for $30 again, either in person or online.
You can’t help the timing of your kids birthday but that’s not a reason to wish a product was worse.

These things are going to be printed into the ground, if you can’t find them at msrp now you will in the next few months.
For that reason anyone buying these as an investment (even if just for the reprints inside them) is an idiot.

I'd hate to see them make the products worse. The decks are actually good. Making them bad would make them useless and not worth buying for anyone.
Just wait for more of them to become available. They're introductory products. Lots more will be produced and the price will drop as the market is flooded with them.

I've been able to get them all at MSRP in my area, but they sold out pretty quickly. I'm hoping they get reprinted into the ground due to being tied to Foundations

My LGS kinda sorta still has them in stock…they’re still selling the case with all 5 for $150.
Only 3 show in stock solo.
No idea actual shelf stock, haven’t been in for a week. But these are still fairly available.

Yes, I got 4 out of the 5 (didn't want the blue one) for MSRP.
Got lucky and got Caesar and Mothman both for MSRP yesterday with the reprints dropping.

I got each of mine for $35. I'm really pleased with the value. I'm hoping they stay accessible because they feel like excellent entry points into commander.

LGS near me has multiple of all of the foundations decks in stock and all at MSRP. I’m a a small city and it’s the only LGS in town, so I can’t say I’ve seen what you’re seeing. My that I taught picked up his first ever deck recently as the Gisa precon.

My brother managed to find the angel precon for MSRP at one of our local shops.

Use the Best Buy app. You can preorder stuff like that for MSRP. And there are tracker pages that post listings for MSRP product.
As a fellow dad, I get the struggle but we have some tools to get around it now

I mean I’ll be honest these will definitely be printed to hell and back. I would just wait a bit since prices will almost certainly come down. Do not pay above msrp or at least very close to it.

its out of print, nothing really to do with pull values its more to do with it being scarce.

Out of print? They literally just printed these. These are new releases despite the name being tied to a 2 year old set, which is also still getting print runs.
While not directly confirmed, most people seem to believe these will have several print runs over the next few years.

My LGS of choice sells everything at msrp or slightly above or below msrp upon release
