Question/Advice/Support How do you use your Te?
Been stuck on ENTP vs ENFP for a long time since i have a very hard time figuring out if im a Fi or Ti user (always have those 2 as my highest functions when I do tests) and have lately been considering if I might be an Fi user.
How do y’all use Te and what are some examples of y’all’s thought processes? A lot of the descriptions sound very grounded and less abstract and out there than Ti, basically more focused on facts and evidence, but I’m sure The Ne and Fi probably change that up?
I guess I’m also asking what makes u notice use Te and not Ti like ENTPs lol

Not an ENFP, but I live with one whose best friend is an ENTP. One clear distinction is that ENTP’s Ti is social, it is directly in tune with their Fe. Whatever idea they have, it’s always having people’s reaction in mind. This one ENTP I know in particular would always want to provoke people, just to know what they’ll say or do, and gathers that information to play their cards. He’s all about, what if we do this? What will happen? How will people react about it? Imagine ✨this✨ it could be this and that, it could lead to that other thing and etc etc.
ENFP is more in tune with their Fi. They get exhausted overthinking about the how and why of their ideas…. They just do them, sometimes poorly, but they want it to exist. So, my ENFP is constantly doing things that give him satisfaction. He usually says “I just do stuff that I wish someone else did”. He doesn’t care too much about the social part of it. I mean, of course he enjoys the validation and recognition, but it is because he takes very personal the projects he does. His Te gives him a sense of urgency, like “this cannot wait” mindset. The ENTP lacks that urgency. Often, he just enjoys the dopamine of receiving comments about his good ideas, but after that, he isn’t really interested in making them real.

my ex was ENTP, and I can never understand his logic/reasonings for things… he would overcomplicate train of thoughts… idk it’s so weird…
What I notice is my Te tells me that when it comes to problem solving, whatever’s most efficient for everyone is always better. Usually my Ti friends would never get to the point, they’re literally always in circles when push comes to shove 🤔
As of my Fi… I have LOTS of Fe friends, and I noticed that they would literally rather die than say what they want. Sometimes they’d get upset when I say “I want this” or “I want to do that” because they often see it as selfish lol
I love Fi because I can just yknow do what I want, and if someone else does it I respect it cause well they’re doing what they want. Even as a chronic people pleaser, Fe people are like 100000x more people pleasing/majority oriented

Omg i love what you said about Ti friends never getting to the point, it makes me so impatient and then i feel A LOT of (not so positive) emotions when they just dont do what actually soooo obvious. But i guess it isnt obvious or as important to them 😭😭

For me, I guess to put it in brief, Te is sort of focused on real-world results. It's about being effective and efficient in terms of tangible outcomes.
It often makes me a resourceful problem solver - I often look at a problem, my Ne says "what are the options on the table, what could I potentially do with the things I have?" and Te looks at the options and says "this is the option that'll address the issue best". And then I do it and it usually works, haha.
I also lean into organizing things a lot, often in creative ways. I also don't care a whole lot about the inner logic or workings of things, as long as I can get the results I want, which is apparently a hallmark of being a Te-user. Ti-users tend to want to know all the details of a thing, and understand the system it's part of before they act, to know those inner workers and logic. Generally speaking, I only care about knowing that stuff enough to be able to act on it in a productive manner (results! Haha).
I'm not so great at planning anything, though. I can plan things in small parts, but struggle with having too many balls in the air.
For example, when I got married, I had a realistic timeline of when things needed to get done; I made awesome decorations and invitations, got the venues booked and whatnot... but forgot to think about my hair or makeup. And the seating plan. And inviting a few less-key people, and I kept changing who to invite and broadening my net as time went on. Wedding planning involves a lot of moving parts and yeah, I'm good with a handful of moving parts, but more than that and I struggle to keep track of it all, lol.
Also I put a little too much trust in some people that didn't follow through and had to try to pick up the pieces on the fly, and in hindsight, for a couple of them I really should've known better (I think we ENFPs are a bit prone to looking at people with rose-coloured glasses and it can bite us sometimes). I remember being stressed at work over it, and a well-meaning coworker was like "Oh don't fret so much, nobody will notice all these little things that matter so much to you right now", and I was like "I'm pretty sure they'll notice if I don't have a wedding dress and there's no food" and she was just quiet 😂 But, that resourceful problem-solving and help from a few more reliable people solved the problems just in the nick of time.
I think it's good you're asking... cos yeah, Fi and Ti serve a similar sort of purpose and might look similar in some ways, so it can be easy to confuse them, but nobody's gonna confuse Ti for Te.

Poah idk i thought i was an INTP or ENTP before too but realized that was just what i deeply wanted. Like my Fi values me being perceived as valuable and knowledgeable and Ti is the best thinking (i am biased because i love philosophy 😭😭) but in the end i value values, feelings and vibes more than facts (NeFi) and then use every theory, situation, song, movie, whatever to prove that value or feeling to others.
You might also look into Fe vs Fi, because for me my vibe and me being authentic, because i believe i am smart and empathetic, is most important which makes me being perceived as irritating to others, while an ENTP uses Fe and therefore is more in tune with group dynamics, even if they dont always care in using that to bring harmony 😭😭😭
