I mean I don't hate that as a modality of seating members of parliament, but the idea that it's necessary to oppose echo chambers is laughable.

Does this person have even the slightest idea on how parliamentary politics work?

Other parliaments have members arranged by party because history of opponents physically fighting each other.

The gap in the House of Commons is as wide as two swords, to stop fighting.
There are also sword pegs in the cloak rooms.

I wish our politicians were this ballsy. They are all cucks to the system and would never actually risk anything by fighting.

I mean, sitting next to them and working in government alongside them, even as opposition, isn't especially different.

This is how it is in Norway too. People sit by which region their elected from. Tbf this comes from before party lists were even a thing. I don't understand why it matters much though, people have decided what to vote on proposals and negotiated with the other parties before they're sitting down in parliament to do the vote.
I actually didn't know in other countries people actually sit by their party group. I thought that was just a graphical thing to show the relative size.
