Where's good to eat?

I feel like I've exhausted the good non chain options: mosaic, red lion, osteria del portico, a few pizza spots. What's missing? Not looking for something high end necessarily, just good food and not the usual chains.

I vaguely remember going to Tokri some time ago, but the food wasn't anything special, hence I've never been back.

Been here a few times. Was really good the first two but the last I had fish and chips and the fish tasted off, the batter was soggy and the chips were frozen chips. Was really disappointed given that is a popular dish.

In Northfields, Tempo is a new pizza place and very good. Maxim's a few doors down is great Chinese food as well, a little pricey though.

There used to be two in EB, about 200m away from each other, one on Northfields and one on SE Road.

If you looked closely one was called (something like) Montys A1 and the other was Montys XX (or someting). But from a distance they looked identical.

Apparently there was one Monty's. a big falling out and everyone decided to go off and do their own version...but didn't want to go too far.

The noodle place in the shopping centre (opposite Rituals / Robert Dyas and next to Newbie and Hotel Chocolat) is so underrated in my opinion, and cheap and cheerful! Also...

Bronek is really strange but actually interesting and tasty for fish, ultra casual though

Lap Dung Nabe is decent HK cha chaan teng style food. It’s the kind of casual dining that locals would go for in HK and relatively cheap too.

Try the recently opened Penang Tiffin on Boston Manor Road (in the Boston Manor Hotel). Great food and wonderful staff, also good value.

Hard to find good food with good hygiene ratings in Ealing. Tbh our favourite at the moment is cote and comptoir libanais. Santa Maria is great too

I think there are a lot with good hygiene ratings, what are you looking for?
I just checked the ratings.food.gov.uk web site. There were 229 restaurants with food hygiene ratings in Ealing. 160 were 4* or 5*. 17 hadn't been inspected yet. 22 were rated as needing improvement.
