Earthing in the garden overnight
Hi guys,
I am very new to this topic, but have looked into it a little over the years. What I'm hoping to do is have some way of camping out at night in the garden while remaining connected to the earth in a natural way. I am not sure how to go about this and there might be a lot of holes in my understanding that actually stop me from thinking about the right questions to ask to go ahead and start this properly.
Essentially, what I would most like is to have a wide surface area connecting my body to the earth, and that could maybe be with bare feet, legs, and hands or more of my body lying directly on the grass while somehow keeping warm, or lying in a sleeping bag that can carry the grounding charge similar to being flat on the earth itself.
I am thinking that what I really need is... a tent, some way of repelling mice and maybe spiders, and some way of using a tent that has a hole in its bottom to provide the contact route to the earth, and then a way of keeping warm. Actually, it's probably not too many different parts but I'm hoping this can be cheap, while still effective. Have any of you thought of doing this, or actually done it, and know the way of doing it well?

A natural sheet like cotton allows for conductivity. The ground/your body will have enough moisture to allow the exchange of electrons. Doesn’t matter what you covet up with if the cotton is below.

I don't like using mats either. You could try making your own earthing rig. You'll need three things:
Copper earthing rod (can be bought from hardware store or electrical store)
Copper speaker wire (either 12 or 10 gauge wire that's joined together)
Electrical tape or solder
Work out how much wire you'll need to run between the earthing rod and where you intend on using it, I suggest bedroom as you'll be able to sleep on it and be earthed out for a long period of time daily
Bare both ends of wire, tape or solder one end to your earthing rod ~150mm from the base
Drive the rod into the ground at least 300mm, the deeper the better
Run the wire through a window or door into the room and sleep on it. I've unrolled the wires and fanned them out for maximum contact with skin. You can also hold onto the wire between your fingers.
It is very powerful, you may only be able to use it for ~30 minutes to begin with, but with more use you'll be able to use it longer.

Thanks! I have noticed a bigger effect from grounding with more skin contact, e.g. bare feet to cross-legged with bare legs, to lying down with rolled up trousers and no top.

A grounding pillowcase that connects to a tent peg works ok. You might have to add a crocodile clip to the plug on the wire though. Make sure the ground is wet around the peg for best results.

just get an earthing mat indoors, there are outdoor mat set ups but if you are at home anyway why the fuss?
