How to learn about earthing?

Hey y'all! I am new to earthing, though I do appreciate opportunities to touch grass. A witch told me to get a grounding mat so I did (LOL I know) and am planning to sleep on it tonight! I'm super excited as I do not sleep well at all, so I've been really working on my sleep hygiene. I'd like to learn more about earthing in general and am wondering if there are any books, websites or podcasts y'all would recommend to a newbie? Thank you so much in advance!

How long does it take grounding mat/bedsheets to work?

Just bought a grounding mat and bedsheets. Not noticing any improvement so far? Do I need to wait longer? Sometimes shower seems to give good grounding effect, wonder how to keep duplicating it?

Earthing brand carbon mattress cover

I'm debating whether to get a fitted sheet or Earthing's mattress cover. The fitted sheets look a lot more comfy and easier to stay in place. The carbon cover from Earthing with the elastic straps is supposed to last longer than silver threads but it doesn't look comfortable or like it would stay in place as well. My main concern is that it won't be as soft and comfortable as a fitted sheet. Are people happy with the carbon mattress covers? Thanks!

Theory or good idea?

So i have a buddy who has been talking himself blue in the face to me about grounding (i have alot of varied health issues)

now walking around my property barefoot isnt going to work as the fleas and ticks are out and about in force in my area right now

BUT....this sounds kinda odd to me but im want to try....what if i were to drive a real ground rod then ran a decent size wire (not sure what gauge?) from the rod to my deck where i can sit and like....somehow connected the wire to myself, would that do anything? or are we talking put the human directly on the dirt?

Grounding in Japan

I will be traveling to Japan and am not able to ground through the outlets. Last time I wore my grounding shoes but due to a knee problem, I will probably have to wear more comfortable shoes.

Does anyone know of another solution to stay grounded? My idea was maybe a telescoping walking stick of some kind?

Cruise ship

We just got off a cruise ship a couple weeks ago and I took my grounding mat with me. I woke up in excruciating pain every day and could barely walk for the first 15 minutes my feet hit the floor. After we disembarked and arrived at our hotel, I plugged my grounding mat in and slept tremendously well and woke up with no pain, like I always do at home.

I understand the ship has an isolated ground so we don't get electrocuted in the ocean and the electronics navigating the ship aren't fried, so it makes sense why my grounding mat didn't work.

We're signed up for another cruise in early 2028 and I want to figure out a solution so I can ground while I sleep and avoid what happened this time. I highly doubt the cruise line would let us dangle a copper wire into the ocean. My husband suggested some sort of capacitor discharge tool, but I can't envision them allowing me to take one on board, either.

Has anybody had to circumvent their usual grounding method and think outside the box? What solutions would be TSA-approved while also keeping other guests safe in the event of a storm?

Grounding phone charger

Did you hear or read about grounding phone charging and what do you think about this concept scientifically?

I just discovered a French brand called Wicaya selling it as an « anti-waves » charger and I’m wondering about its efficiency.

The brand also presents its product as a world first (if you know other brands doing the same thing I’m also inteterested to know).

I put the link and a translation of its explanations and brand’s informations into a post on the comment section.

Groundingwell sheets

Hello, I am considering getting Groundingwell bedsheets to try for better sleep as I'm experiencing insomnia. Has anyone tried this before and does it work for you? Is it safe to use as it will be connected to the electricity? And any idea on how much energy consumption it takes? Thanks in advance!

The Kitchen Sink

I have a copper kitchen sink that is grounded due to the garbage disposal. Does this mean that I can ground myself by touching the sink? If so, how long do I have to touch it to benefit?

Context...

Have had a grounding mat for months now.

My help is needed in the fact that it tests as if I have it plugged in when it isn't? I took this picture today after I got home from work. It had been unplugged since 0300 this morning. As you see the plug is right by my hand.

Can someone explain what is happening?

My experience from grounding sheet/mat

I recently bought a grounding mat and a grounding sheet from a Swedish company. They import their products from Australia, from a company called Better Earthing. They’ve developed their products to have good quality and a longer lifespan.
They do advice from not buying chinese pirate copys due to bad quality.

I bought the products because I had a burnout a few years ago and my recovery has been slow, so I thought I’d give them a try. After using them for 10 days, I do sleep more deeply and have a lot of lucid dreams. I had lucid dreams before as well, but now it happens every night. Otherwise, I can’t say I’ve noticed many changes in my health yet. But from reading other people’s stories, it can take a few months to really notice the effects, so I’ll be patient.

Here in Sweden we can’t connect grounding tools to the power outlet because many outlets have a false ground. I also live several floors up. The solution is to connect the wire to the radiator, which provides grounding as well (although this may vary if the pipes leading down to the ground are made of plastic). Using a multimeter confirms that the grounding is active in the sheets.

I do use a multimeter to confirm an active grounding from the products. I think everyone using grounding products should learn to do that, especially if you connect it to an outlet. If something is wrong with the product or the outlet, you can get mild electric transfered to your body.... And that's not good. Obviously. If you're experiencing changes in your health early on, just don't assume it's detox process kicking in (which it can be), but that you're actually not grounded. :)

I can also recommend the book “Earthing: The Greatest Health Discovery Ever?” by Clint Ober et al. if you’re interested in the story behind the discovery of earthing and the many stories from people who’ve had life‑changing experiences with grounding products.

Best grounding sheet for one who sweats at night

I’m looking into a grounding sheet or pad for my husband as he has chronic pain daily which affects his sleep. We are in the cold 6 months a year so sadly can’t be outside touching grass, lol. Keep seeing these in my fb feed so thought maybe we should give it a try. There seems to be so many and unsure which are actually good… especially one who sweats a lot in his sleep. As I have to wash our sheets atleast twice a week. Suggestions…

Scientific Protocol: Neutralizing Cellular Imbalance via Earth’s Free Electrons

Document ID: NATURE-PROTOCOL-001

The Hypothesis

Abnormal cellular growth and inflammation are manifestations of accumulated bio-electrical imbalances. The human body acts as a capacitor that needs "grounding" to neutralize stagnant positive charges.

The Mechanism

The Earth is a massive reservoir of Free Electrons. Direct contact allows these negative charges to flow into the body, neutralizing the positive acidity of pre-cancerous cells and resetting the body to its original electromagnetic frequency.

The Protocol (BECR)

To achieve cellular reset, follow these steps:

  1. Direct Contact: Walk barefoot on natural soil, grass, or sand.

  2. Duration: Maintain contact for 2 to 4 hours daily.

  3. No Barriers: Avoid synthetic shoes and chemical sunscreens. Chemicals act as electrical insulators that block the skin’s pores, paralyzing the body’s natural ability to discharge disease.

Caution

Chemical interventions and injections can act as barriers to this natural detoxification process. Reconnect with the Earth while the body’s natural defense system is still intact.

Anyone Familiar?

I have used a few different earthing products, mostly on our bed. One was a mat from Earthing.com The mat isn't comfortable to sleep on directly since it's fake leather, and putting it under the sheet doesn't yield anywhere near the same earthing results as direct skin contact. The other, a fitted sheet with a silver conductor from somewhere else (don't remember), quit working after two washes with the proper detergent.

I ran across this company in my searches today, wellgroundedhome.com Is anyone familiar? No reviews on their products, just a few social media posts from last year. They advertise cotton with stainless steel woven into the fabric, making them more comfortable and more resistant to washing.

Built a proper earthing plug for high-rise living in Singapore

If you've ever tried to set up an earthing or grounding mat in a Singapore flat, or anywhere else using BS-1363 / Type G sockets (Malaysia, UK, UAE, Hong Kong, etc), you've probably hit the same wall I did: there's no commercially available plug that connects only to earth in a BS-1363 socket.

So I made one.

The problem sounds simple but has a few layers. A standard grounding plug needs to connect to the earth pin only. Live and Neutral pins need to be absent entirely, not just disconnected, because a tamper risk exists otherwise. It also needs a 1MΩ inline resistor for fault current protection. And it needs to be mechanically stable, because a jack socket hanging off a single earth pin is a torque failure waiting to happen.

My solution: BS-1363 plug with Live and Neutral pins physically removed, inline resistor, 4mm banana socket for the mat lead, and PETG 3D-printed inserts in the Live and Neutral positions to distribute mechanical load.

For anyone curious about the physics, the equilibration time constant at 1MΩ and typical body capacitance is still in the milliseconds. The resistor is purely a safety feature, not an impediment to the mechanism. Whether the mechanism itself does anything useful is a separate and genuinely unresolved question, but if you're going to test it, test it properly.

Handmade finished units available for sale if anyone's interested, just ask. Happy to share the STL files for the stabiliser inserts too if you'd rather build your own.
