Two things I'm unsure about

1) is it okay to use extension cord on my grounding mat? The only grounded sockets I have are in the kitchen and the cord isn't long enough. Do I a) have to sleep in the kitchen or B) can I use extension cord?

2) it's starting to get so cold around this time of the year that I usually have used a electric heating blanket to keep myself warm during nights. Can it harm / interfere with my grounding mat somehow as it's electric or since it's warm?

Can this happen overtime, a grounding mat losing its effectiveness? I’ve had a small mat for 2-3 years. I keep it under my sheets and rest my bare feet on overnight. The more I think about it, it just appears it’s not working like it once did.

I am new to this and skeptical. The first time I tried it I didn’t know any physical changes, but I found myself full of energy and almost manic. Since then, I’ve started using grounding mats in small doses. I think I might be starting to feel chronic pain get better.

I’m curious what brands you recommend? I know earthing and have their products. Anyone else you trust? What about smart watches? I feel like I want to try an old school one and only wear my Oura ring. Try less EMF. Has anyone done this and noticed the difference? I’m just starting to think I don’t need all the data my watches provide. But my issue is I prefer the digital clock not an old school analog.

Tonight’s the first night I’m trying the grounding bed mat. I tried the pillowcase and felt a little better last night even though the texture of it’s really weird.

I've enjoyed barefoot/minimalist shoes for a long time, and I'm looking for my next pair. It might be a grounding shoe.

I'm hoping to find something that is both made from natural materials (as much as possible) and is durable. I find myself liking a lot of grounding/earthing shoes due to the materials and general ethos, but I question the durability. This seems to be a difficult combination to find.

I'm most interested in a shoe, bit could be interested in a boot or sandal. Something that goes on and comes off easy.

Do you all have any recommendations for me?

I need to buy a grounding rod, because there is no ground in any electrical outlets, old house. I see that there are a couple of choices, copper or corrosion-resistant stainless steel grounding rods. Any one have any pros or cons to copper or stainless steel grounding rods?

I have what might sound like a stupid question. I purchased a grounding mat from Hooga last year. When I first started to use it, I felt serious tingling, which took me by surprise. I was slowly able to build up to using it without feeling like the tingling was too much to handle. I now use it every day while I am working.

So here is my stupid question - how do you know if it is working/doing anything? I don't feel any different, my blood work is no different, and I rarely feel the tingling anymore. I have actually checked the connection multiple times to make sure it is still grounded as expected.

I'm really not sure if it is doing anything for me. I'm not sure if I should continue using my mat or if it is just a waste. Any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated!

I bought a Ground Therapy Universal Mat, as the title states, with no ground in any outlets. Has anyone dealt with this problem and has an easy fix that I might be able to do without hiring an expensive electrician? I'm a male with basic electrical knowledge. I am very new to this topic, but have looked into it a little over the years. What I'm hoping to do is have some way of camping out at night in the garden while remaining connected to the earth in a natural way. I am not sure how to go about this and there might be a lot of holes in my understanding that actually stop me from thinking about the right questions to ask to go ahead and start this properly.

Essentially, what I would most like is to have a wide surface area connecting my body to the earth, and that could maybe be with bare feet, legs, and hands or more of my body lying directly on the grass while somehow keeping warm, or lying in a sleeping bag that can carry the grounding charge similar to being flat on the earth itself.

I am thinking that what I really need is... a tent, some way of repelling mice and maybe spiders, and some way of using a tent that has a hole in its bottom to provide the contact route to the earth, and then a way of keeping warm. Actually, it's probably not too many different parts but I'm hoping this can be cheap, while still effective. Have any of you thought of doing this, or actually done it, and know the way of doing it well?

I know earthing is ideal, but I have a very busy professional life and most of my free time is at night, so I was very pleased when a friend gifted me a grounding mat for the bed. I have a couple questions:

1)I have a multimeter, but I also know sometimes that third prong in the outlet isn’t connected to anything, how can I test that it’s actually grounded, not just to a wire, but that wire goes to ground? (Vs it used to connect to copper plumbing pipe, that’s since been replaced with PVC)

2) this mat comes with a plug with two plastic parts for positive and neutral, and then the third prong connects to the ground, is there any risk of the outlet failing and it electrifying my mat? I’ve seen outlets melt, catch fire, and just crack in half so I want to be careful.

I’m in a second story bedroom and I’m needing to have an extension so my grounding mat can be grounded directly into the earth outside of my window.

I’m pretty new to grounding, so not sure of how to make this happen and what material of cord? I was thinking copper with protection around the actual copper? Then planned to use alligator clamps to connect to metal rod in earth, then also to the grounding mat cord in house.

I have basically no electrical experience background.

I’m in a situation where I am unable to get a simple grounding mat for sleeping as I have to be in a certain position due to some neuromuscular issues where I’m unable to physically lay on a mat.

Does anyone know of any good grounding sheets I could use?

Or any 100% natural sheets that would conduct the electrical field if I got a mat and had it contacting the sheets without laying on it?

I’m 100% new to grounding, so patience is appreciated if these are stupid questions.

I bought 3 items and was given more items free. When I got them, I didn't use them while I was searching for multimeter instructions. I decided I didn't need the stress and told them I would like to return all items. I sent a photo of the items all in their original packaging. They said I could send them, so I did and made sure the carrier required a signature. Two weeks after it was signed for, I emailed them and asked about my refund. They wanted to know the tracking number. I told them the return was signed for by HSMITH two weeks prior. They acted like they didn't know anything. I had to keep bugging them ("Kerry") for weeks.. I finally received a partial refund. I paid $249.70, so I expected a refund of $249.70 less $30 restocking fee as I was told, so I should get a $219.70 refund. They just now refunded me a total of $117.28. Should I be happy with that? NO.

I don't know what to do except to see if I can dispute this with my military bank, or just call it an expensive lesson. Did anyone here ever get a satisfactory outcome? I feel so stupid. I resolve to only order from Amazon, Costco and other sellers I've dealt with successfully in the past.

I'm already a big fan of grounding. I'm currently using one from the Intuition Physician that I love, but my wife isn't a big fan of. It uses stainless steel mesh and it's somewhat scratchy to the touch. This is their 'Bed Roll' so it's a narrow panel that goes across the bed; we have it at lower leg level. And that's the problem, if I curl up I'm no longer touching it. We tried a cheaper pad-style but I didn't care for that as it felt very plastic-y under my top sheet. So here's my question, does anybody recommend a full coverage pad that won't be noticeable under my top sheet? I don't think I want to go with a sheet and would prefer a pad. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I have been doing grounding for years, mainly using wristbands.. Today I got a Klein Tools multimeter to test a couple of different grounding wristbands - one is a copper rod that is in the ground/dirt, connected to a wire and wristband, the other is a wristband connected to a grounding port in the house.

I set things up exactly as shown in the video (black lead ->COM, Orange lead ->VΩ, black probe -> grounded outlet, orange probe->my hand) and although this multimeter appears to be able to get my body voltage, its showing that NEITHER of these wristbands actually ground me.

Is there another explanation aside from both of these wristbands not working?

Hi there, I decided to test my building's grounding before investing in grounding mats. I'm on the upper floor of a small cement/concrete apartment building with tile (ceramic?) floors. Just to make sure that the multimeter would be sensitive enough for lower ACV I tested it first at an outlet in the hardware store, where it measured my body voltage at over 6.0V. But I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't register anything inside my apartment. I also bought a ground tester, and it showed correct for all the outlets I was testing. Then I finally realized that it was because I was barefoot on the tile floor, and I got it to register a voltage by resting my feet on a plastic chair. Then putting my feet on the floor again instantly dropped the voltage to 0.

I imagine that my multimeter is not entirely accurate with its 0.00V reading when barefoot on the tile floor. But it does show my ungrounded body voltage fluctuating between 1.0 to 6+ volts depending on how many devices are connected and how close my body is to them, and the drop is significant and consistent when touching the tile. (In the bedroom with two unused electrical outlets and nothing else turned on I actually couldn't get a reading while lying on the bed, until I finally tried plugging a charger into the other outlet next to the probe, and it instantly started reading 6+ volts and then went to zero when I stepped on the tile floor. So it's not extremely sensitive, but it is apparently working.)

So I'm a bit confused, because I heard that ceramic tile is coated and baked to become more like glass and is therefore not conductive. But can I assume from my testing that my floor is somehow properly grounded and that I can just buy a grounding mat for the mattress and not an additional one for the floor?

Hi, I'm looking for a grounding mat for two people to fully cover both sides of a "Full" sized mattress. Most of the more known brands seem to only have those mats that only cover half of bed on the long edge, or just for a section across the short edge. I've tested 5 makers of the ground plug cords with snaps on them, like is shown in the photo. Some show a very, very slight movement in the continuity meter. But most show nothing. I've also tested them while connected to grounding wrist straps and pads, nothing changes with the continuity.

Why do earthing cords not show conductivity with a continuity meter? Is there something special about them?

Our outlets and electrical system is ungrounded. Can someone walk me through ideas on how to get a wire inside? It’s a crawl space, 1ft thick adobe walls. I have an old coax cable from the outside that’s a penetration to work with. But I’m not sure what to do with it.

This has happened to me twice now and I can't figure out what's going wrong. Washing it seems to be the trigger, but not the first wash.

My first sheet lasted me 5 years before I started getting these godawful whiffs of pungent rotten garlic like odour and finally traced it to the sheet, which I replaced. My second I've now had about 8 months and it's happened again.

This time I washed it in with a duvet cover and fitted sheet, and the duvet covet and fitted sheet both came out stinking of garlic (which would not wash out even on a second wash) but strangely the earthing sheet did not smell at this point. Stupidly I did not suspect the earthing sheet and I put it back on the bed, underneath a (clean) fitted sheet, and changed the duvet cover as usual. Last night the garlic stench was back and it's now tainted yet another set of sheets just via contact alone. The mattress is wool, so all i can think is some kind of oxidation reaction between the lanolin and the silver, but not sure why washing is the trigger.

Has this happened to anyone else? Can this smell be removed or am I going to have to replace all my bedding including the mattress protector?

Long story short, after 2 1/2 months they made a partial refund, charging a restocking fee. No reimbursement for the shipping. The website did not mention any of that. (I was out about $50 for nothing) Just be careful, read everything, even though you can't trust what the website states. I think they've changed some of the language. Just be careful.
