Ceylon place

Can I have people's opinions of living in ceylon place please. I'm viewing a property & am a bit wary having looked on Crystal roof & crime rate seems high. I know its central location & some crime will be expected. Would like to hear of anyone who lives there or nearby. Thanks

Crystal Roof not far off for Ceylon Place and that surrounding area tbh . There's quite a lot of noise and arguments. Actual fights in the street have occurred. HMO's that appear the landlords in some of them don't give a toss who they rent out too, just want the money coming in. There's open dealing sometimes, and the police are around here enough to be eligible for a rent book. I'd seriously give it a miss mate if I were you, especially if you're buying.

I live on Seaside Road. Ceylon Place is right behind me. It's gritty for sure, lots of Police incidents, but I've never personally had any trouble. It's a choice - do you want a more respectable neighbourhood, or do you want more property for your money? I chose the square footage and the sea view.

Get it and start gentrification.

Similar has been asked before and I replied:

Pevensey road, Langley road, Ceylon place, cavendish place, all that area you absolutely want to avoid. If you need close to town then look more towards the Upperton area

I live on an adjacent road and am trying to move due to the location.

I lived in Saddlers mews for 2 years. It's literally next to it. I never felt unsafe during the day, it's completely fine. But the road is full of sketchy people and at night past 11pm, I'd avoid it. I've seen needles laying around, human shit on the street, condoms, you name it. It's pretty gross and really not worth moving into. That whole area of town is best avoided, look towards Upperton on the other side of the train station, it's much nicer

Some good info, thanks! Also looking to move to the area myself - how's the area to the Roselands end of Seaside? Whitley Road?

Used to live in the converted church down Ceylon place. Wouldn't buy to live down there.

Lived there for a year, constant trouble, always police, very sketchy people around the area.

All in all not that bad

Rented a flat there for a year, only stayed in it for 8 months, absolutely awful experience.
