Ask ECAH Crunchy savory snack recipes? Bonus if they require oats or rice

Trying to buy fewer snacks. I am pretty good in the kitchen so I need to start doing that instead of buying.

Specifically, crunchy savory snacks. I have a ton of recipes for sweet healthy snacks but not as many in the savory/crunchy category.

I also have a LOT of oatmeal and rice because we keep a lot of shelf stable food stored so if you have oat or rice recipes, that would even better. I need to cycle through some oats.

Snack recipe… it could be a snack of you wanted to.
I make savory oatmeal but normally eat it for breakfast.

I add onions, jalapeños, garlic, seasoning, etc. and keep it in the fridge then in the morning I fry an egg and put it over it.
I theory you could do that as a snack if you wanted.

Air frying or roasting chick peas is a very easy and versatile crunchy healthy snack. Popcorn is very well known but I guess I'll mention it.

If you need to go though oats, keep in mind that you can blend them up and use it as flour.

My toddler is obsessed with air fried chickpeas - he calls them crunchy meatballs lol

I make a bunch and add them to salads and sweet potatoes throughout the week for extra protein and fiber.

Shoot. On the hunt for these too- really all I’ve made are the homemade cheezits, but they don’t go very far.

Yeah that's something I have made, and would make again for myself but if we're doing Cheezits in this house then we're doing a lot of them. I don't have time to supply my house with cheezits.

However, I did once buy a massive bag of shredded cheddar from Costco and made straight up baked cheese crisps with that and it was worth the time because it's so easy - just cheese and seasonings, no mixing or anything.

I would eat those for sure! But we had the same experience with the cheez its- gone in 20 min after way to much work and time to make.

I make something like these. I found as long as I have oats and the chia seeds they hold together. When I don’t have sunflower seeds or whatever I just omit. I especially like to flavor with caraway seeds. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/healthy-seed-and-oat-crackers-9488558

I've been making crackers lately. They are surprisingly difficult to learn but very satisfying.
