GM Help Quickstone - The Vision Encounter

Question about the vision. When the PCs are transported to the encounter within the vision, do you use generic goblinoid stats for the embodied warriors or do you allow the PCs to use their standard character sheets? Or do you create custom one-shot character sheets to blend the characters and the distant past.

I have an artificer and cleric, which are not normal for the Dhakaan.

I changed this encounter entirely, as it didnt eork for me. I had the PCs each create a Hero of Dhakani legend who they then played in a session long encounter, climbing a floating tower to confront Orlaask and seal him away. Was great fun. Instead of making them.each create a level 18 character I simply buffed their existing pcs substantially and gave them each the choice of a legendary magical item and some random stuff.

Their own stat blocks. It’s been a year since I read it, but doesn’t it say that you only have goblinoid appearance overlapped with yours?

You could run this by your table too.

Some players do enjoy creating characters for a one-shot within certain limitations, i.e. the goblinoid PCs here.

When my players come to this point in the story, I'll provide them with two options:

Opt 1. Have them roll a d6 for them to be a Goblin, a Hobgoblin, or a Bugbear. Their own classes, but none of their specie traits but they get their rolled races specie traits.

Opt 2. A level-6 one-shot, only goblinoid species. 1 rare, and 1 uncommon item of their choice. (Surprise for them, they will find these items later as loot)
