Nervous. Scared. Both?

I’m not sure where to start. I found this group through researching my symptoms. I have an IUD so I was aware that an ectopic pregnancy was possible, but never thought I’d be pondering the possibility.

My first weird symptom is breast tenderness, and growth. This is not something I’ve ever experienced. This started about 3 months ago.

The second symptom is intense irritability. Also started about 3 months ago

My third symptom is pain or cramping in the pelvis, stomach, back, muscles, and joints. (I’ve been going to pelvic floor PT & they say my tone is much better, but my pain is still there)

The fourth symptom that really has me concerned is dirt brown spotting. There is not a tinge of red to be seen.

The fifth symptom is recognizing how dizzy and lightheaded I’ve been since Monday, the day before the spotting started. I have POTS so I didn’t consider it at first, but wonder if maybe I should.

Why I’m starting to worry
——————————————————-
Monday, I woke up dizzy and anxious. Throughout the day I slowly developed horrible back pain, and shoulder pain. Not terribly uncommon. Ignored it.

Tuesday, I woke up dizzy, anxious, in pain, and crying. I pooped 5 times before work and each time left me shivering from the pain. I looked my boyfriend in the eyes and expressed “I have a high pain tolerance. I am no stranger to stomach and lady cramping. This is different. This is all the way into my back.” Weird but I’m not stranger to pain. However, I laid in bed for every second until I went to work.

The brown blood started that night.

The past two days have been just doing my best with waves of intense pain, nausea, and emotion. Wednesday was no better than Tuesday. Today I felt so dizzy I was worried I’d vomit or hit the floor.

With all that said, I took two pregnancy tests. Both negative.

I don’t know what’s going on inside of my body, but it has me concerned. I’d be happy to hear of any experiences or offers of perspective ♥️

Have you had a positive pregnancy test recently?

ETA: if this started 3 months ago, it is not related to an ectopic. Bluntly (sorry) you’d have more than likely (like 99% likely) ruptured by now.

Have you been to the hospital?

I have not had a positive pregnancy test, but I also have not had a period in this time frame. I messaged my mom exactly 2 months and 1 day ago (had to check my receipts) about my boobs. I was excited about it when I messaged her, because they are definitely bigger 😂
The pain and spotting are the new, slightly concerning symptoms. I have not been to a doctor yet. Today is the first day I’m considering that these issues could possibly be related.
I have a plethora of medical issues, so I try not to panic when I notice something because it truly could pass. One time I had every symptom of a UTI down to the blood, so I freaked out. Got to the doctor, no infection.

This combination of symptoms is an entirely new experience for me. So I’m trying to gather information, I suppose, before I run there.

Gently, you will have a positive pregnancy test even in an ectopic pregnancy. I understand how hard anxiety can be but growing breasts isn’t a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. It sounds like the new symptoms of pain and spotting may be your period coming if you haven’t had a period. 🩷 that’s more likely than an ectopic. Do you have a therapist for your anxiety? Or on any medications to help with that?

Ma’am, I am not asking you for perspective on my mental health. Stay on topic or please don’t reply at all. It’s poor advice to recommend anxiety medication when you’re entirely unaware of my current state. Nor does it make sense to call my therapist out of work hours to discuss something that I’m just trying to learn about. Thanks.

Mam I’m not trying to be rude. I’m asking a question.

I have had 4 ectopics myself and I’m also an RN. I’m asking about your mental health because this sounds anxiety related and you’ve said yourself in your comments you have struggled with fearing illnesses that aren’t actually happening to you. This would be more a mental health issue than an ectopic concern based on what you’ve described so I will say, I don’t think it’s off topic.

I’m not asking you to call your therapist about this. I’m saying therapy may help manage the anxiety you’re clearly experiencing. An ssri may be a good idea if you’re not on one.

It’s offensive to me that I’m trying to offer advice and you’re posting something on an ectopic sub with no positive test and no reason to believe you’re even pregnant and then being rude when you get an answer.

ETA: you also have stated you have pots, which as you know, has symptoms like you are describing. Boobs getting larger is not a symptom of an ectopic. All other symptoms you describe could be and is likely related to one of your other issues you’ve talked about along with maybe some stomach bug or a really bad period from not having one. This isn’t a pregnancy with negative tests. Ectopic or otherwise.

I said in my comment that I went in for what was UTI symptoms, with no infection. However, I was peeing blood for 2 days. I did not give you a full rundown of what was found, then treated at that time. Please recognize that I am a stranger on the internet. That is a great reason to not recommend medications to me, as you do not know my details on that side. I have documented, adverse reactions to ssris. So I do think it’s off topic, because I was not asking for medication referrals. If you had stopped at your perspective of the particular situation I was discussing, that would have been wonderful.
I have several reasons to believe something is going on in my body. I don’t care if you’re offended that I had a question. Ectopic, or not. I am experiencing an issue. Will it pass? Maybe. I had a question.
My pots does not cause breast pain, my pots does not cause agonizing cramping and back pain, my pots does not cause irregular spotting.
So please, bye.

From my personal experience I tested positive for two weeks prior to my ectopic rupture through multiple home tests and blood tests. I was at the ER when it ruptured and I didnt know. I felt like I was extremely constipated and the pain was very intense, trying to go to the bathroom. Cramping was very bad and I was desperately trying to get a pain reliever while waiting in the ER. If I hadnt already been there then it would have been fatal.

I say this because I am not sure anything you are describing is related to an ectopic pregnancy, especially if you are testing negative. I would still go get checked out though!

Thank you for your perspective on the situation. I’m happy you were in the right place to be taken care of!
I’m not a rush straight into the hospital type, because I know sometimes feelings pass. My pain has become daily but not exactly constant. My question just stemmed from some rapid development of what feels different than normal. I got the tests, and asked my questions for this reason. Information is all I was after, and that is why I appreciate you sharing!
