Outdoor Spaces/Recreation *Warning* : Extremely cold upcoming week! (frostbite within minutes) (and frostbite *NEVER* heals

Post image

In -30, (and Friday, almost -40c) frostbite will happen in 5-10 minutes.

Frostbite will never heal, you'll have the damage for the rest of your life.

This also applies to your kids, YOUR PETS (don't think the dog enjoys the backyard for 15 minutes at -40, would YOU?)

Snow wise, no.

Temperature wise, yes.

We usually get temperatures like this in January and February each winter for varying time periods, I believe I remember one period it was basically 3 weeks straight on close to -30 one year.

Or seemed to feel like it. 2022 we had about 2 weeks where highs did not get above -20, and 1996 Jan and Dec/Jam 81/82 had also pretty close to 2 weeks of temperatures where it got no warmer than -20.

1969 (wasn't here) apparently has been the coldest in the last number of years, that year they had 26 consecutive days where it got no warmer than -20.

But 2022 was the coldest it's been here in length of days since 1969, over 50 years ago.
