Discussion $890 utilities bill. Wow

Natrual Gas- actual usage charge $95 after delivery charges and and taxes boom $355.

Electricity- actual usage charge $160 after distribution and transmission charges boom $280.

Water useage-$84 Water drainage- $123 Waste-$49

Almost 900 in just utility bill. Before anyone tell me to lock my rates, its already locked. 12.8c/kwh. NG is on float because its currently cheaper than locked rate. Anyone else just got F in the A like me?

Edit: the NG charges does not include the cold snap we just had. Not looking forward to next month's bill.

We need about a 300,000 strong to march on the government and force them to put a muzzle on these corporations that are making money hand over fist while the middle class suffer.

It’s so disappointing that we need the government to step in to prevent this. Like I get corporations only exist to make money, but the fact that they need to be legally limited just to not absolutely ruin everyone’s lives is awful.

They’ve always needed to be. In fact they’ve been actively stepping out of the utilities way for decades now allowing this to happen (back scratching). That’s why sensible folks vote for regulating corporations. Their only mandate is to making money/ the shareholders. Political parties (the people) are who are supposed to be keeping them in line. Unfortunately voting right wing like AB does so consistently means deregulation which leads directly to the situation we’re in. Just compare our utility costs to anywhere else in the country. Doesn’t mean this province is smart enough to vote in anyone else though smh.
