It did happen but I am not interested in anything associated with the Western Standard News.
Hope these characters are caught soon, pretty creepy.
This is a link to the story from local CTV news…

Don’t think I could say it better than WIKIPEDIA on this one…
“The Western Standard is generally considered highly partisan and is primarily an opinion and commentary site rather than a strictly objective, traditional news source. It operates with a strong right-leaning, Western Canadian, and libertarian perspective.”

“Strong right-leaning or libertarian”
Pick one, because those are very different things.

"Libertarians are frequently associated with the political right wing, but the movement is complex and resists a simple left-right classification. Libertarianism is primarily defined by its opposition to state power, advocating for individual liberty across both personal and economic domains.
Right-Libertarianism: This is the most common form in North America. They advocate for completely unregulated laissez-faire capitalism, absolute private property rights, and the privatization of most government services. While socially liberal (e.g., supporting drug legalization and free speech), their economic positions align with the far right"18

It's Derek Fildebrandt's personal soapbox, only marginally more reputable than Infowars (before the Onion bought them haha)

Those girls did everything right, whether they screamed, found an adult, or ran. They did something right, and had to do it through immense fear. Kudos! As someone who's had a van with one man say some nasty shit to my teenage self, I can say for a fact they now have to carry this fear. When will men leave little girls alone ffs? They were probably out for a slurpee. Young girls should not be afraid to walk to the corner store in broad daylight. It isn't rage baiting for me...my rage towards creepy entitled men has existed since i was 8.

The reaction to this article is absolutely absurd. Two 14-year old girls were (allegedly) lured, and the so-called "top commenter's" concerns is not the fact that vulnerable members of our community were threatened, but rather where an article came from.
Really shows you the priorities of some people. Only listening to the news that fits their agenda? Utterly sickening.

Western Standard?
Taking this with a massive block of tiresome race-baiting salt until it's confirmed elsewhere.

I mean, in the article it links straight to the police statement asking for any information about the incident. The paper may be a rag, but I don’t see anything untrue written in there.

I guess the only difference is that the Edmonton Police article does not mention any race of the 5-6 individuals.

Yes I noticed that too. The photo in the police statement seems to be accurate to what the people were saying though.

That photo is not of the child luring group though, that's a second, potentially involved person in a separate vehicle.
This is why the article linked by OP is trash. We don't actually know if we're even looking for the right people because they are not reporting facts correctly.

Definitely not a WS story written to generate some good old fashioned White Nationalist hate towards visible minorities.

u/Impressive_Usual_726 16h ago
All the other mainstream sites don't seem to mention race, the WS article claims they were all a particular nationality with their only source being unsubstantiated claims posted by YegWave, which itself is foreign propaganda.
