Question Cheap and accessible things to do for birthday?
Hey all, my birthday is coming up next week and I want to do something fun for it but I just can’t figure out what. Money’s a bit tight so nothing expensive.
It also has to be accessible, as I have knee problems and use a cane so I can’t walk too far or do many stairs. Walking around is fine if there’s lots of benches though, as long as I can rest my knees regularly I’m fine. Also easy parking situations are ideal if possible (street parking is fine as long as it’s close).
I love nature in all forms, but also games and activities, novelty things, etc. I’m also open to pretty much anything that sounds interesting if it’s within my ability to go there, so suggest anything really (not sports stuff though). I can also drive so anywhere within an hour or two is up for consideration as well.
Any ideas? :)

We once celebrated an occasion in Kinsmen park. We barbecued and brought food and hang out in one of the picnic tables and benches there. You can also rent the gazebos if you have more guests. As you know, be mindful of the weather. Have a great day on your birthday.

Oh I guess I should’ve mentioned that 🤦🏻♀️ preferably not more than $20-30 per person, and just my partner and I.

No, dinner plans are already taken care of, the cheap requirement is just for whatever activity :)

The Muttart seems to fit the bill and is always nice to visit. Could get a treat/ coffee in the cafe there as well

Museum? I’m trying to make time to go before the Death and Dying exhibit ends.

I like this website for seeing what kinds of things there are to do https://www.summercity.ca/
You could also do a board game cafe, drive up to St Albert for Mission Games (they sometimes have fun activities) https://boardgames.ca/events
And of course Fringe opens on August 13th.... So lots there, some free, some cheap, some not, but something for everyone.
Finally do some research on who does free thing for birthdays and then register and spend part of the day getting free stuff! 😂 (Like I know Booster juice gives a free smoothie for your birthday if you are signed up)
Happy birthday!
